    I didn't feel like digging my old one out of a box or going to the store to purchase one, all I wanted to do was qualify for the beta. This is a way to do that.

    In order to get past the GamePad requirement if you don't have one:
    install HeadSoft VJoy
    open the Tray Icon
    Enable vjoy checkbox top left
    set Button #2 to a key on the keyboard (I set buttons 1 to 4 as numeric keys 1 to 4)
    open Steam in Big Picture mode
    navigate to library
    hover over game with mouse
    hit Button #2 to open game (Button A)
    hover over play icon with mouse
    hit Button #2 to open game (Button A)

    So how will this revolution make sure that the writer gets paid? As Harlan Elison says, Pay the Writer! Don't get me wrong, I love writing and am not looking for top dollar for my own small efforts, but all I see is sites wanting free writing. I do it myself, but at least I don't have ad dollars coming in off the backs of the few people who contribute to my site.

    "those same tv shows" AOL keywords, MySpace links, even Facebook links, were only on a small number of shows compared to the number using Twitter names and hashtags now. See my other comment above.

    You both have a point for the start of it and the elections were one of the first to use it heavily, but now it's ubiquitous, like a utility. Twitter names and hashtags are the perfect shortening mnemonic. So it may not be Twitter in the future, but it will remain within that format especially since the entertainment industry now uses it everywhere.

    Twitter has reached ubiquity, especially in the entertainment industry. TV Shows now include Twitter names and hashtags quite regularly as watermark bugs as well as the longer Facebook link during the credits. It's quite telling they put them up as bugs during the actual show with the network's logo bug, and even introduce people with a graphic with their name and Twitter ID, as well as special hashtags during the show. Twitter has beaten Facebook where it counts, in the minds of those who provide entertainment to the rest of us. - HEX

    I quit using Swedish SNUS which broke the oral fixation/habit of puffing on a smoke while providing the nicotine my body craved. I tapered off using Swedish SNUS within six months, and while I still have cravings occasionally I haven't started smoking again. Please note I didn't use the American versions of SNUS, I ordered real "Swedish" brands that are imported. - HEX

    GhettoTracker is still up and running, and I scrolled over to Detroit and see lots of colored circles. Additionally they are still tweeting about this situation. They took the site down and now it's back up.

    I already use Wordpress for posting articles, but I'd rather have something that allows me to have a more open wiki structure to ideas, scripts, etc. So is this a blog/media/wiki all in one? Or should I just try bolting a wiki onto my wordpress and hope they support using a single user database some day.     I'm willing to put up some bucks in order to sponsor a FOSS I Can Haz Chat to IRC Bridge using their new Web API. I'm looking for a 3rd party site where people can pledge an amount and that will split it between 1st place, 2nd place, and a tip for ICHC for providing the site itself.     I just want one that can handle fixing my collection, preferably on multi-platform since I'm on Win7. MP3Tag works fairly well but I'd rather have something that can handle anything thrown at it without a lot of manual intervention. When the length of songs are known, it should be able to auto match to the version of the album I've got, including extra tracks. - HEX

    I like the idea of Puppet (and the alternatives) but it's Windows support is way to basic to make it viable over on "my" side of the data center. Why not use one of the established config management programs designed for Windows? Because I hate them all, and I wish they would die, and I do a better job programming an AutoIt script to check configs, registry keys, security, etc, than the big names do in their management programs. - HEX

    You need to be on LinkedIn with connections and endorsements and Indeed for your resume. LinkedIn especially has become a MUST for connecting to prospective employers and showing off your previous work and skill sets. I don't give out my Facebook or Twitter to employers and I make them hard to connect with my business self simply because of my off beat personal interests and art. (see sig line) - HEX

    This, plus the main component is going to be your caching and use of a CDN. While I'm not a fan of Cloudflare I do use them and they do offload a bit from your server, and MaxCDN can handle all your other distributed CDN needs reasonably. Easy to integrate into Wordpress with W3 Total Cache. This will help immensely when Slashdot takes an interest in your site. - HEX
