    Better yet, leave the bolt cutters and "lose" the undamaged lock.

    Of course your finger prints are on the bolt cutter, you picked them up. Dumb thing to do, sure, but it's not a crime.

    (Filing a false police report is STILL a crime -- But that's another issue)

    Sure, but you don't always need to talk to the remote server -- If you can catch a hash of a password in transit you can crack the password locally and only submit the correct one to the server when you're sure you've got it.

    Yes. Just because the guy sitting next to you has access to the same information you do doesn't mean you should give him your password (unless the entire system is read-only)

    If you're still not sure why this is a problem, try it, and when you have to explain to your boss why "you" emailed tubgirl to the entire company, you'll probably understand.

    Assuming it lasts more then a day, wouldn't the effective $ per kW/h price drop over time?

    Can anyone explain to me why the "Exempt" status exists (other then gov't corruption and pandering to corporate interests, that is)?

    I don't get it -- If you put in extra hours, why should you be compensated if you're a plumber but not a programmer?

    More likely they'll come after you for releasing the source to their product under a license which was not authorized by the company, and hold you responsible for their "loses" (Calculated by the samn folks the RIAA uses, no doubt)

    The sandboxing functionality is, in my opinion, the most important, and likely the excuse they'll use in court when VMWare tries to go after MS for integrating something like this into the OS.

    FreeBSD isn't listed in the options, but all those options really do is preset a bunch of configuration settings. You can install whatever OS you like, the majority of what worked under Connectix works fine under MSVPC too.

    Microsoft doesn't provide support (read: technical support) for running Linux under MSVPC, but it works fine.

    It's people like your mother that make me wonder if freedom of speech is really worth it -- Now if she could produce a notarized record of said promise (or even a contract signed by an arms length witness) that would be different, but unfortunately god never consults legal council when making land deals.

    Copyrights non-transferable? That will pretty much kill off the modern economic world as we know it.

    Selling the copyright to your work is essentially what keeps programmers, authors, artists, and anyone involved in any form of creation creativity employed.

    I've never grasped why inheritance should be taxed though, can you fill me in on the logic there? Why should I be punished by the gov't for dying?
