So say the hippies, greens and liberals as well as all the RonPaulBots. I say why not. We're not a knowledge country anymore, haven't been for years. We're a sell insurance to each other country now.
Yes precisely that. And when I sell my house, the bulbs come with me - it's in the contract because I'm not underwriting the buyer's lightbulbs to the tune of several hundred or thousands of dollars either. This is insane. 23w vs 100w what's the breakeven point? 5 years? 6? It damn well better work at least that long.
I put all three kids though the UNC system, Chapel-Hill, NC State and Greensboro + grad school with no debt to me or to them. Maybe NYU and the Ivies and Columbia and all the rest need to re examine the efficacy of charging ridiculous sums of money especially in this economy. And increasing rates at 2x the rate of inflation year over year over year every year for the last 30 years. Maybe students need to re examine the efficacy of getting an MFA in post modern Marxist-Anarchist-Lesbian critical literary theory when literally the only job they can get is teaching that to the next crop of like minded students. Maybe parents need to stop enabling their kids to do whatever they like wherever they like for whatever it costs when it doesn't cost the students anything or they've convinced themselves that going a hundred thousand dollars in the hole is no big thing because they're a special snowflake and somebody somewhere will swoop in to bail them out. I got news for you. Anyone who MARRIES someone with huge student debt is an enormous idiot. So all the snowflakes should all work that crap out before they move on to the next phase of their lives, which no doubt will be moving in with their parents for Adolescence II, The New Beginning.
I have zero sympathy for anyone involved in this, just like the janitors who took out liar loans on half million dollar houses and now cry to Mother Government to bail them out because the banks went broke selling smoke and bullshit to EACH OTHER. Jesus Christ in a shopping cart does ANYONE bother with due diligence anymore?
When the near trillion dollar price tag for the F-35 comes due. Already nearly 5 years behind schedule, with hundreds of billions in cost overruns and no end in sight. 7 project ending design flaws uncovered in the last Quick Look Review. And the model being built for the Marines, they don't even want it. The Naval version is melting carrier decks and the Air Force version doesn't fly well. Plus most of the Tier 1 nations that are supposed to buy it in return for building components for it, are starting to bail out and contracting with rapid upgrades of the soon to be discontinued F-16 or purchasing the Eurofighter or Dassault Rafale.
And the really sad thing is that their early competition, the Boeing F-32 was widely acknowledged to be a better cheaper more efficient and elegant AND more advanced plane but it was not selected because, and I quote, the Air Force didn't think it looked aggressive enough, compounded with weak VTOL characteristics that now, it's clear, aren't going to work out for the F-35 either because it's SO efficient that it melts runways, which is why the Marines don't want it.
Like before it was opened up to private companies. Just nationalize everything and put the whole thing under Federal government control. Stalin-net will be awesome.
And only then you should have to face a detailed background check, attend a training course and pay a hefty license charge to get online, while every single keystroke of yours is tracked and stored for possible infractions. There also needs to a be strict age limit of no access if you're under 25 or ever had any run in with the law including any charge for any reason whatsoever. Even a parking ticket. Violators will be electrocuted.
they've been experimenting with walking logging vehicles that go into densely wooded areas to pick choice individual trees. they look like cats except with 6 legs.
Is that in IBM and so many other companies, the C-level staff changes, the Board changes, the employees turn over but the top people in HR NEVER DO. And no one even really knows who they are, what their plans are, who they're accountable to or what their direction is. Their job seems to amount to nothing more than creative and stealthy ways to fire people.
To all the libertarians here who are cheering, I'd ask "Why do the HR tools even have jobs if they've done such an astonishingly bad job at OVER hiring in the first place?"
The fringe of the Warming collective also asserts that it's already too late we're all gonna die so what's the point. Ok let's say you're right. Let's burn it all down and have fun.
Companies are run by accountants and flunkies who are afraid of it Linux developers aren't on board with the PR that asserts that everything is shifting to social media based. Embrace The Suck.
4 4w regular bulbs for $3 or 2 0.25w LED bulbs for $5. All they need to do is throw in the nite light fixture because that's what it cost.

England Prevails.
On 15% of the cars by then.
I wonder, and so what?
As they fawn prostrate at the feet at all things EU. Never mind it's more intrusive than the Voter ID laws they loathe.
Why not, laws don't mean shit anymore.
In fact everyone everywhere at all times should be required by law to wear a helmet.
That is all. Carry on.
Because FF isn't quite as bloated as it could be....yet.
that way they demand everyone replace every bolt and make a ton of money for doing even less than re racking everything.

SUE EVERYONE!
Pascal's wager, eh? Either they're right and we're all going to die, or they're wrong and only WE are going to die.
On Netflix. How Oxfordian is that?
