different people find different things fun. Camping out of the car can be fun. I just don't like all the other people that are around. It's nice to walk a couple miles and a couple thousand feet up. Then you're away from people and you get to be alone at pristine mountain lakes. you get to see things like wild goats. It's a nice escape sometimes. Plus the excersice is good for you.

Well, our last trip was just overnight so were we were much much lighter was food. we had a dinner, a breakfast, and a few cliff bars. We divided that up between two people as well.
    Here is what I had:
    • Tent, very light less than 5 pounds with the poles
    • Sleeping bag, it's a 30+ sleeping bag so it's very light
    • one pot, pancake mix, iso-butane canister, stove
    • one change of light pants, light shirt, underwear, socks
    • Therma-rest
    • minimal first aid kit
    • map, flashlight, and knife

That weighs a ton in terms of camping gear. Try adding that to your 20lb pack and you'll know what I mean. People who camp alot do things like pay hundreds of dollars more to shave an once or two on a sleeping back and cut the handles off their tooth brushes and eating utensiles. I don't go that far, but my last overnight trip saw me carrying about 25lbs (my girlfriend had 20), and I don't want to carry much more.

    2. Usage Problem.
      1. To inflict great destruction or damage on: The fawns decimated my rose bushes.
      2. To reduce markedly in amount: a profligate heir who decimated his trust fund.

You obviously don't know how criminals work. It's not hard for him to figure out the cops were called. It's not hard for him to figure out who did it. That's why we need things like the witness protection program and why extortion works. If someone is sophisticated enough to plan fixing an election they'll have no trouble punishing someone for going against their plans.

Vote buying and intimidation have been problems in the past. Letting someone vote privately from home could only make the problem worse.

You don't know that they turned in blank ballots. Possibly an error kept their vote from being recorded. If they truly didn't mean to cast a vote, then a paper trail would confirm that. If there was an error, a paper trail would have helped to catch it. There is no good arguement not to have a paper trail.

animals are still fed to eachother in the US. The law states though that you can't have canibal cows (you can't feed cows other cows). But you can feed cows to chickens and then chickens to cows, which would cause the same problems. We also feed cows to dogs and cats, which in turn are fed back to cows and chickens (what do you think they do with all those unwanted pets?).

There are the integrated kind (musicmatch, napster, iTMS, and some that work with WMP) and the kind that work through a web interface (usually IE only). The Dell store can probably only be used by dell customers, however I'm pretty sure it is just a re-skinned version of the music match store; so technically anyone can use it.

I also do wear leather goods (although given the choice between a leather and non leather product or equivalent utility I would choose the non leather).

The main reason I'm a vegetarian is health. Mad cow is scary. And since cows are fed to chickens and chickens are fed to cows, I really question the safety of all our meat. Ethical, environmental, and political ideology rank as other reasons. I think we should be eating free range and organic food. I think farms should be smaller and not in the hands of agri-business. I think the way most food animals are treated and slaughtered is appaling.

I also am realistic enough to realize that I do have to live. I don't like auto manufacturers, but I do have to have a car. So I do. Sometimes I have to wear leather (it's hard to find a nice pair of dress shoes or hiking boots that are leather free). In an ideal world I would be eating free range meat and all organic produce. Unfortunately I can't afford to live that way. I do the best I can with in my means, I figure it's better than nothing.
