First of all, it wasn't Kasner himself who coined the term... It was his 9-year-old nephew.
Secondarily, the term is not trademarked.
You can say, "but how was Kasner to know, at that point, that the word would bring someone else such success?" Well, that's the thing. It's his fault for not making it known that he considered that word his own property.
The family apparently feels "ripped off," as if the fact that they created this word should have brought them, not Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the success that google.com achieved. Seems like they're mainly just looking for ways to mooch off of other people's success.
Heh, I know HUGE fans who haven't been to many concerts... like 2 or 3. I've only been to 4. The.org is www.benfolds.org. You should go and get an account and talk to the other happy fans!
Haha, I'm far from being the coolest person on Slashdot!! Just the stalkeriest. I saw Darren play with his new band in NYC in August. Their name is Hotel Lights now. (they were "Remover" for a while). Robert is the only one from the Five I have yet to meet. But someday. someday. How big of a Ben fan are you? Are you on the.org??
I actually like that track ("I Paid My Money") and a bunch of other ones a lot, and can listen to them a lot. That one and the first one, and the one with I think Fleming of Fleming and John singing weird stuff.... I don't like the Frally yelling track though.
A few words were said about this above.
Another Ben Folds fan was saying he couldn't listen to it more than twice, and that actually seems to be a somewhat common opinion among fans...
But I *do* enjoy listening to it. Despite the occasional annoying track.
And the Shatner track is HILARIOUS.
I'm a huge Folds fan and even though most other fans also didn't listen to Fear of Pop more than twice, I actually like listening to it.
I must admit the Shatner track was quite amusing. "And I... CAN'T... COMMIT!! YOURE RIGHT! I CAN'T COMMIT! To YOU." hahahahhaha
Anyways, this Shatner album is due out in the middle of January.
I don't get why everyone here hates him. Or is it just all in jest?
