    The whole idea behind IBM's big Linux support and push is to introduce a new operating environment on their "Big Iron", in order to keep those product series alive and making them their big hardware bucks. Red Hat and Suse Enterprise are supported on everything IBM has to offer:

    xSeries (x86)

    pSeries (RS6000)

    iSeries (AS/400)

    zSeries(the venerable s390 mainframe)

    It's a pretty compelling story for producing cross platform, scalable applications while still making the best use of your current hardware investment.
