What about Skynet? Are the evil robots just going to put their plan on hold so we can watch the asteriod? I don't know about you, but I would be much more concerned about the polished-chrome evil robots with freakin' lasers, if you know what I mean.

We should nuke it anyway, just to be sure.

Also a good test for our naquadria-enhanced nuclear warheads =)

This is going to be a boon for hackers and such. Now they can connect to ANY computer! These access points will be unsecured, and even if they used WEP it is crackable in a few minutes or less.

Hell, the average user can't even keep from installing SPYWARE! How does anyone expect them to disable simple file sharing (default in windows that allows anyone to access shared files without a password)? Many people I know have to pause to think where the freaking START button is. Everyone who isn't an expert is going to be screwed by this.

Linus provided them a better, simpler kernel so they basicly scrapped HURD for linux, if I remember correctly from "Revolution OS"

BTW, Revolution OS is a great movie, even my non-nerd friends loved it. You can pick it up here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000A9GLO/ revolutionos-20/103-9235316-0475036

Laptops are a waste of money for school, they should be buying Tablet PC's. Then you can take notes and draw the (very important) diagrams the teachers draw.

I bought a tablet and it does me wonders. However, my school is really crappy so I just sit in the back and learn on my own (read ebooks on linux and run Linux in VMware. It's slow but works for just the command line.) See? See? I CAN tell the teacher I'm learning, just something other than facts ont he Spartans.

I can confirm this, I'm a student in California and a school near me just got laptops for all students. My friends have porn, warez, and games on it. He let me look at it, I couldn't find one single document on that thing.

    How about this:

I don't want to drive to the music store. The whole point of an online marketplace is to give an EQUIVILENT product at a faster and easier speed.

    iTunes missed the clue train.

Because we are a different audience. Many people will go for iTunes music but the smart people refuse to use the DRM. This is a different market segmeent.
