Considering that the universe is 30 billion light years wide, it would take billions of years for most aliens signals to reach us, let alone reaching us with spaceships. I think this is basically impossible, but it's the kind of thing that's so important that we can't give up no matter what; It's something we NEED to know just like we need to know how how and why we exist at all.
