Have you even any idea about apple's drm? Unlimited cd burns, (only 10 times of the same songs in the same order) transfer it to your ipod, and I would assume other players as soon as they adopt mpeg4.
And you are allowed to import those files back into any format you want.
It ran automatically and downloaded and installed the patch and I said "what the heck, if Apple released it, it must pass QA".
Thanks. I needed a good laugh.
Actually, you can't automatically update any system software. Software update will check at certain times, but it requires an admin password to download and/or install anything.
I used to spend hours playing FF games. Hours. FF 7 was the reason I bought a playstation. I must have put 200 hours into that game.
But it seems that the last few FF titles that have been released are just long movies, with little spots in between where you kill shit. You don't really play these games as much as watch them.
Like I said, maybe I'm getting old, but FF games these days are all glitz and no guts. And why do we need to dress the girl characters up like whoors? Meh.
If I had a dollar for every time I've seen thius EXACT same comment. Seriously, do you just cut and paste this thing every time there is something related to apple on slashdot?
Both Apple and Dell are guilty of using misleading prices.
So are Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Microsoft, Taco Bell, Comcast, Best Buy... Sorry, I have to go to work at some point, and I don't have time to list EVERY OTHER COMPANY IN THE WORLD. That is the stupidest comment ever, and shows that this whole article shouldn't be taken seriously.
You're willing to pay an enormous premium for very little gain?
You obviously haven't seen the specs on the 970 yet.
Heck, if I remember correctly they've done it twice so far going from Motorola 68k chips to PowerPC and then from OS 9 to OS X.
No. you don't remember correctly. The move from 68k to powerpc was pretty smooth, and very few were left in the dust. And the move from OS 9 to X hasn't been perfect, but apple has retained great compatibility, and the carbon api made it possible for developers to change just a few lines of code to get their software to run natively in X.
Because the general sheep public don't understand or care about that stuff. They just see the ever widening "GHZ" label and buy away every time intel releases a new chip.
You wouldn't think they'd just let apple go and introduce something that might possible kick their ass, without trying to steal some thunder, do you?;)
Interesting. You're guaging the value of an apple computer while using a 5 year old mac? If you can't afford a 800 dollar emac that destroys a beige G3 in every way, than maybe macintosh isn't the platform for you. And, as other posters have said, FileMaker is also available for windows.
You should be able to choose any one of your drives. In OS X's version, it's under preferences>burning. Sorry, don't have a pc to check it out. ;)
Not even worth it.
Burn those songs to a cd, then re-import them as mp3's. Not really a pain in the butt at all.

So first they can do sumo, then we teach them kung fu. Then the world is overrun by murdering mechanical martial artists.
Thanks, Japan.
That is funny. Damn, I wish I had some mod points.
These things are 14 to 18 months old... all of them require a $600 fix.
Perhaps you're doing something wrong.
It ran Mac OS X for all of about an hour.
Wow, really tested her out there, huh?
because then I might pay the ridiculous price for OS X.
Err? 129 bucks? Or, like, free when you bought a new mac?
I still love the hardware though. Worth every penny.
The only part of your post that made any sense.

The 1.8ghz version draws 42 watts.
You get what you pay for.
That post is so bad and ill-informed it's obvious you are just trolling. Good one, though.
That was fucking great. Thanks for the chuckle. :D

You have to have a license to drive a car, but any asshole can have a website.

Unless of course this whole 970 business is all just hype and hope.
(crosses fingers, pets Jobs® doll)

I hate to see a once innovative company suffer like this year after year.
And I hate to see the same innane statement year after year.
So I guess we can expect more of the Clear-channel-tells-me-what-I-want-to-listen-to shit, huh?
Fantastic.
I meant in the sense that is has USB 2, and upcoming ogg support. iTunes doesn't officially support ogg, and no current macs ship with USB2.
The ipod is aimed at mac users, while this guy would be more aimed at linux and windows users.
