  3. Tchaikovsky or Chopin on Ask Slashdot: What Music do you Code By? · · Score: 1

Tchaikovsky, Chopin or Stravinsky are by far the best selection of music to listen to while coding. The satisfying crash of Strauss is good for a core dump or kernel panic, and Beethoven's 9th symphony is good when debugging never ending while loops.

What would be good is if we could get WINE to run everything of windows properly. (Perhaps we could try and get it to load explorer.exe and be told a certain set of resources are available?). At that point progammes will not need to be ported, but just run off the windows partition. (Suffice it to say, most linux users have a windows partition, as far as i can tell.)

No, in the Commonwealth, we are a Commonwealth of the US. Civil disobedience is the best way to get this law overturned I would say. Have everyone on /. and a few other places export a single line of code with the number of the line in the subject header to be rebuilt by a script outside the country. Or just have everyone here export the code with a cc to president@whitehouse.gov. There is already a website somewhere (its several years old) that allows you to do that...http://online.offshore.com.ai/arms-t rafficker/.

Or anyone whose out there in the development of such software should simply leave the US and develop outside. I don't think anything would scare the US government more then a brain drain.

As far as I understand, the government is supposed to represent the people, not control them. The US has been moving more and more towards a police state with the advent of Internet censoring, and noone is saying anything loud enough to be heard.

Was it Abaham Lincoln or a contemporary of his who stated that the US must have a civil war in every generation to keep the country a true democracy.

I'm glad I'm out of the US.
