That is the problem with Monster. If you put an ad there, you will get SWAMPED with responses, and 90% are from unqualified people. Looking through all that dross can give you one hell of a headache.
[In some fairness, I haven't used Monster in a year or so, but Craig's list is cheaper, and while there was still a buttload of useless responses, it still worked better.]
While KSR is a really nice guy, and writes really nice books, he is NOT an engineer, nor does he claim to be one. Almost all the science is cribbed from various journals and research he did for the book. He makes no claims that the science holds up to more than casual scrutiny.
I asked him more or less the same question when Red Mars came out...
