    how useless is this thing. i could do a 13km ride on my push bike for nothing, and the bike costs a 20th that this stupid car costs. in traffic i bet i could beat the fucking car to.

    solve the storage problem with electric cars, then come back to me. and if anyone cry's about lithium ion batteries being the answer, i'll slap them, because they still suck.

    it's not trolling when your point is valid - there's no need to recreate CVS, the license for CVS is perfectly fine and if you don't like CVS because of it's various problems, there's svn which is great.

    the main source of theo thinking SVN isn't secure, is because that control freak didn't write it himself. which is ironic because openssl and openssh are 2 packages responsible for huge security holes over the years, both of which are his babies.

    sure it void's your warranty IN CERTAIN CASES, like if i hacked the firmware and suddenly i can't send sms all of a sudden.. well i would have to eat the bill to fix it. but that kind of thing goes on a case by case basis.

    You cannot however, just blanket void warranty on a product, even if they do something fucked up to their iphone. the fault has to be in some way related to their messing around with it, so say they place a 3rd party app on it and a few days later the screen dies, apple MUST replace it.

    lets be real now. most people who get their break in entertainment get it because of people they know. you can have all the talent in the world and practice all you want but the significant barrier to entry is that there's 10000000 acts out there, most of them suck balls and knowing someone persoanlly who will give you a shot is what it takes.     WTF? how does the other 99.9% you refer to avoid all these pit falls by having a "normal" (what ever the fuck that is) job? you still get rejections and sarcasm from people in any job, no one even has the certainty of making minimum wage for that matter.     you people keep spouting this theory, but todate has this actually happened? as far as i was aware, GM crops are all sterile, so cross pollination is not possible.

    not only that, but a strong argument can be made that should cross pollination occur monsanto won't have any claim on the derived crop since it's their duty to make sure it doesn't happen in the first place.

    the problem with this is patents main goal is to protect little guys who come up with a good idea and want to stop someone else stealing it.

    increasing the cost of something will never stop companys with GDP's larger then many countries. you think a million dollars for a patent on a crop is a problem? fuck bio research companys SHIT $1000000 bricks, they will view it as a minor cost.

    the only way to prevent frivolous patents, is to put a very short time frame on profiting from a patent. say i come up with an idea for the wear it all night condom. i have 2 years to turn more then $20,000 profit from my idea, or it's out in the public domain for someone else to have a crack out. this works because even if some asshole patents this, we can just wait them out, knowing their just patent squating and the moment their 2 years is up it's open season. If i CAN turn a profit on it, then it's obvious that i'm doing something with the idea, hence deserve it.

    this was one of my questions as well.

    also, from what i can tell it takes everywhere up to 30 seconds to get a decent lock on gps. 30 seconds doesn't seem like much, but now lets see how much 30 seconds matters in a jumbo doing 1000miles an hour. if your gps loses it's lock for some reason, that's a scary amount of time to be flying blind.
