    start up time? i have CFL's in all my fixtures, white for the kitchen and utility area's and yellow in the bedrooms and living room. they come on instantly and provide plenty of lighting. i paid $20aud for a pack of 6 and they have something like a 50,000 hour life span.

    led's would be great if they weren't so direct and cold, and they didn't cost $30 a pop.

    call me picky but none of those links actually state that those products are capable of a full 1920x1080 video signal.

    bluray is at best 1920x1080 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc#Technical_specifications, and i'm not talking about crappy small screen players, of which there are tons of already and i can't understand why we need another one (it runs linux.. so what?).

    really we are all waiting for is for a small, silent, UPGRADABLE media player that can do full hd video/audio at a reasonable cost. so far you are either locked out of codec upgrades by vendors, or it's a fully fledged pc which is both expensive and bulky in comparison.

    that doesn't work. rising wages and better working hours have been widely implemented in my industry and turn over hasn't improved.

    that isn't what non compete is about though, it's about protecting the company from hostile employee's ,which sometimes no pay increase or perk can stop.

    it's certainly no harder than sending 10's of millions of sms's then dealing with the returned data. mordern cell systems can tell what number is locked on to what tower.

    what gets me is if he has the power to send all these, he can probably get the phone company to provide the cell tower location they are connected to, providing a pretty good estimate as to their postcode....

    the thing is, solid maths skills are an important foundation to CS anyway. a high level of maths and english are all someone needs to do well in every other field. the education system needs to stop trying to be a jack of all trades, and leave the specialization up to tertiary level organisations.

    they are confusing their right to free speech as the right to force people to listen - sure they can hold all the scientology sessions they want, but employee's shouldn't be forced to go and it shouldn't be allowed to impact on their jobs.

    i'm sure you have some axe to grind against the church, but to compare them to scientology is just misleading. for a start you can leave the roman catholic church without them comming after you, you don't HAVE to give money to keep attending the church either.

    no i'm not christain at all (pure atheist), but you aren't helping rid the world of scientology by comparing them to legit churches.
