    what kind of noob wants LESS clacky? the best keyboard i ever owned was a keytronics keyboard. it weighed about 5kg and had STEEL SPRINGS for the return tension. it's clickity clack was unrivaled, people across the road ducked for cover when i typed because the sound resembled machine gun fire.

    the thing was about 10 years old and still going strong.

    how come the UN hasn't classified cars as torture devices? oh that's right because the UN frequently says stupid UN that they don't think through.

    torture is about the applicantion not the object. lets say we took tasers off cops, would you preffer a baton across the back of the legs? the baton will leave huge bruises, where the taser leaves a tiny pin prick. i've been shocked be similar voltage to a taser and while it sucks, it's really not that bad, you get over it quickly there is no lasting effects.

    the problem is that people today don't respect police officers, so they are forced to use tasers to bring people into line. there is NO alternative if you want to maintain law and order.

    1. what makes you think it's more economical now? the price of cabling sure hasn't gone down. 2. your example ignores the fact you'd be stringing the line under the mediterannean. under sea cables are a whole lot more expensive. 3. even if you crossed at the most narrow point, it's still greater than 7000km (you best case) from any fesible site in africa into northern europe. remember you are proposing a solar site. that means costal area's are OUT.

    CO2 does NOT belong in that list. it's a harmless gas that's present naturally, and it's a very minor greenhouse gas, of which we only contribute 0.28% of.
