Yeah, the gumstix and it's support are just awesome. I'm also working on a robotics project based on the gumstix(and and AVR microcontroller). One of the great things about working with the gumstix is the fact that all the software is open source...so I can use gcc in programming the avr, and the same for the gumstix.
"...stop people from creating robots that have REAL damage potential"
I think you should go to one of these events and stand next to a 340lb robot...then say they don't have any real damage potential. for reference.video video
Two wheeled balancing robots have been around many years before the segway....but I wonder if they are use segway technology anyways. Seems like it would be a reasonably reliabe system to build on.
Though the beta of IE 7 will not be released for several months, there are already 3 secutiry patches for the browser which microsoft strongly recommends you install.
Thank you! People always think I'm strange because I don't like crt monitors. I always see flickering, especially when I move my eyes from one position on the screen to another. Flickering is one reason I love my laptop, and rarely go around desktops anymore(excepting desktops with lcds).
There is another company working on a similar technology(maybe the same company?) that has been working with a small linux machine called the gumstix(which I'm currently using on a robotics project).
It is *NOT* self-balancing
---What this does do is use a gyroscope and sensor to detect when the rider leans forward or backwards and then accelerates or decelerate the wheel.
the voyage 200 is like half the size/weight, and has 2.7mb of flash memory. It's 12mhz, instead of 10 like the 92+...which isn't much of a difference but still. They've also just realeased the titanium editions, and you've kinda neglected all the HP calculators....which in reality are much more powerful than the TI's anyways.
When it comes down to it, who really wants a full color 3d calculator? It would basically have the performance of a PDA, and the same battery life. I can go about 10 months on new batteries with my v200, using it every other day....even the best PDA running simple apps could never compare to that.

It's the same guy...guess threatening his hosting didn't work.
"and he doesn't care about safety/privacy concerns."
Of course no one cares about safety until they're broswer is a mess of search bars and pop ups. My aunt had me come and "fix" her computer because IE was basically unusable. When I opened IE it was nothing but search bars and the pop ups were rediculous.
maybe he doesn't care about safety now, but give it a while and when the browser is barely usable he'll care about it.
when there are updates available a little green arrow poiting up shows up in my icons in firefox. I click on it and it launches the update tool and updates.
I'm more concerned with any software company installing software on my computer without my knowledge than I am about having to actually find updates myself and install them.
update to what, version 8*? My flash player is up-to-date, and my firefox doesn't load flash animations into the page until I click on them anyways. try again
there are search engines other than google?....interesting
looking at the gumstix....why not call this the chickletstix?

"Apparently an important factor is security"
So they're re-writing the code for another platform?
"The first beta of IE 7.0 isn't expected for a few more months."
Does it really take than long to download firefox, change the spinning icon in the top right corner, and relabel it IE 7?
Asking nerds about exercise in responce to an article about us sitting front of computers all day....just silly.

Google bans google webpages from google search engine.
...this means when I search google.....for things related to google, google pages will make it higher in the search results?!?!
I feel so betrayed!

It's pretty neat stuff.
so does this mean XIII will run even better?
It is *NOT* self-balancing ---What this does do is use a gyroscope and sensor to detect when the rider leans forward or backwards and then accelerates or decelerate the wheel.
So what does self-balancing mean?
so does it tell you where Salvatore di Giacomo, Lorenzo Bernini, Gaetano Filangieri, and Enrico De Nicola used to live?

of course there is an opposite ph.d....in bizarro land there is an opposite of everything here in normal land.

maybe a strongly worded letter to his mother?
this is front page slashdot material? I've had email arguments that were better executed and more entertaining.

the fact that you think a gentoo has to release a new version to be "up 2 date" says how little you understand about gentoo ;-)

that's assuming that they blocked the site for political reasons in the first place.
