I do database work exclusively for the NHS (sexual health, mmmmm!), and as far as I understand it, the NHS do not pay for ANY client licenses (it's all free, baby!) and only fork out for their servers - which is why our EPR app is based on MS SQL, Office, and any of their OS's. I seriously doubt that a) Linux(anything) will ever get a look in now, and b) unless MS switch to pure charity mode, they'll not be doing any more discounts...
Mind you, they (the NHS) do have a habit of laying out 10,000 for server hardware, W2k(3) enterprise and SQl enterprise, then they phone me up and say "is this OK for 3 users?". Sheesh.
