Why no Bill ~300 million windows machines are not spamming your website. How could they? They are not susceptible to computer viruses...it must be sumthing else...
A while back I got a jones for Robotech - THE cartoon of my youth - and downloaded a few *.mpegs. Next thing you know I'm online and purchased the whole damned series on DVD.
Robotech does not happen to be available for at my local blockbuster and I'm not plunking down $50 for something I'm not pretty damned sure I will like. 1991 was a long time ago.
Filesharing, in many situations, allows consumers to make a more informed purchase. There are quite a few anime series I won't pay $30 bucks for sight unseen, but after watching a few 'illegal' episodes I might just go and buy the whole set...or maybe I'll decide the series stinks and save my $$
Any song I've ever downloaded was previously purchased on a CD which had been scratched. Now, as far as I know there is no industry program to replace my old scratchy CD with a spanking new one at cost...or how about allowing me to download some digital recordings of songs I purchased in the late 80s which were on tape?
These entertainment bozos have a golden opportunity to win over customers and make more $$ in new and innovative ways...and they are blowing it...I didn't hear them complaining when all of us forked over the $$$ to replace tapes and lps with CDs...
....and it was worth every penny.
Purpose built calculators are wayyy better than palms. Just using the stylus to punch the numbers takes way too much time in a test - much less in real life while a customer is staring at you fiddling with your palm device.:)

I disagree, an ISP's interest is to make $$$$. Effectively broadcasting hidden complexities in their product will alienate many consumers....
Anyone in industry knows the consumers I'm talking about.

The person you just hired knows more than you, has better interpersonal skills and many more good contacts.
Suddenly you have a much greater problem than a blank space on the org sheet.
My advice to Mr. Klinck would be to start his own company from scratch. Such a charismatic leader was surely loved at his former company and many highly qualified people would immediately come work for him.
Failing that, start taking stuff off your resume.

The 'Burger King' modification:
$200,000/yr ----> $9/hr
Now all the 18yr old Burger King manager has to say is, well we only hire at $8/hr but if you do a goo job we can boost you up to $9/hr in six months.
Instant employment.
An engineer, I absolutely hate to fly. The chain of error from the airline manufacturer to the pilot, to the grunt on the ground, to the Air Traffic Controller...and so on...is just too high to stand. (Knowing where management stands on risk and cash-flow doesn't help either)
Now I have to worry, not just about crazy terrorists but the soccer mom/evil lawyer who just must have their cellphone on? Or worse, simply forgets to turn off the damned thing?
This is why I take the 6hr drive back home instead of the $125 flight.

Agreed :) I just feel safer against collision in an SUV with an airbag. A little irrational I know.

Well,
If American schools are so bad I suggest you move to Saudi Arabia and try a Madrassa.
