This kind of thinking only perpetuates distrust and animosity between users of technology. While it's tempting to take up arms in this 'war', unnecessary aggression makes the world a harsher place. Look at Bush!
Hmm..... perhaps this 24 hour delay is nothing more than good ol' special relativity kicking in: the satellite only appears to be 24 hours behind because it's going so fast!
Enermax makes some low-cost 4U cases that I've seen used successfully for home media PCs, but the fit and finish are remeniscent of 70s-era supercomputer projects.
Keep in mind that the BTX form-factor motherboards are due out this year, and will likely make ATX boxed obsolete in terms of cooling and noise.
It seems like Apple's public image prevents them from publishing more information about possible exploits. If it doesn't fit with the image of "easy-to-use!", they leave it up to someone else to publicize. It's a great idea to have automatically-configured machines, but these things need to be well-known. As is so often the case, education is the most important part of the equation.
