Holy shit... Have you ever tried to develop with PDF? You have to pay out the ass (buy licenses or develop in-house) for PDF creation/editing tools, most of which suck cock for beer money (leadtools, PDF camp, they all suck shit). Then you're stuck with Acrobat on the client end, which is another bloated piece of shit that doesn't work half the time (ever try embedding a PDF in a page that uses dhtml? Make sure your users have the correct version of the plugin). XPS is a zip file with an XML doc and resources. And that's a bad thing? Any asshole can sit down, look at the specs, and create a program that can display the contents with minimal fuss. Face it, you want XPS to die because M$ is behind it. I want PDF to die because it fucking sucks. Sucks > hatred of M$.

So if you lie about something that isn't anyone's business regarding the behavior of two consenting adults, then it's an impeachable offense. On the other hand, if you lie about matters of improper squandering of our nation's lives and treasure, you're just being persecuted for political gain?
Scooter Libby was convicted for "lying" about something in an investigation that found 1) no law was broken and 2) the real identity of the leaker--an administration critic who has yet to be arrested. Apparently, it doesn't matter over what you lied about, just the fact that you lied.
  6. Big surprise on Women Are Fleeing IT Jobs · · Score: 1

After the big push attempting to get more women into IT via artificial incentives, when those incentives are gone alot of these same women find no compelling reason to stay. Is this a surprise? I'm in this business because I get to work with computers (kewl!), make stuff (which is great cause I don't have a womb), and play on the internets (cause its hard to get a vagina when you don't have one). Those are the built-in incentives to IT work. They are always present. That's why I'll probably stay in the field for a long time. If I was lured into the business by offers for free porn, and didn't find the built in ones fulfilling enough, when the free porn is gone so am I. Simple. In the end, does it really matter? The whole push to get more women in IT was fucking stupid in the first place. It would be like pushing to get more whites in the MBA. Those with the inclination to make it will be drawn. Those who do not will go where their inclinations take them. Its not a crying shame; its life. Stop trying to control other people's lives so much. Sheesh.

    Yes, it is very simple.

    1) Without global warming, the earth would be a big ball of ice. I don't like icy balls; life, in general, doesn't. Whether or not the earth, on average, will warm a few degrees over the next 100 or so years isn't cause for panic.

    2) People make greenhouse gasses. True dat. And because of this we will be seeing milder winters, longer growing seasons, and increased vegetation in areas that were inhospitable back when we were freezing our asses off.

    3) Huge is relative. An inch is huge when you're talking about pecker size.
