Our company cannot afford to do this kind of expensive research at this stage. This kind of research would cost hundreds of thousands. I rather use that money on advertising. Testimonials are enough to convince people for now.
Now that made me laugh... but I do speak from experience. I am one of the many people that put up my referral link on my homepage to get enough clicks for my neodymium eternal life rings (took the link down after the rings arrived). I wore them for a few hours total, while I demonstrated the rings to my friends and relatives. I am still alive! I am not sure if it was the rings, but that is my testimonial. Thank you Alex!
MS is not even on the list and the list is from 1999.
Also, a more significant point would be what MS has done for the better. They may be big, bad and evil, but they have done a lot of ground-breaking. I mean, how has Wal-Mart made people's lives better? My mom may shops there, and my mom will never get a handle on Linux at this point. AOL and MS suit her fine. It is a lot easier for people to be politically active by how they spend their money rather than what OS or software that they use. I think that was my point, if I had one to begin with.
Agreed. See my post below... not just the Nautilus, everything that they make. Every other manufacturer should just give up. What, the 301's come in at just over $200? You cannot find a better speaker from a US company at 3X that price. The 601/602's come it a solid audiophile quality for less than $500. The Nautilus series speakers are just simply amazing.
at least the US retains the world leadership in producting high quality speakers
Hardly. There are two I can think of that outclass EVERYTHING in the US. B&W's line, specifically the Nautilus, are some of the most trick speakers on Earth... the 601 coming it at $400 to the 801 used at Abbey Road studio to the $30,000.00 Nautilus - all made in the UK. From Holland we have BD Design's Oris. There are many more. Focal from France, Morel from Israel, Peerless from Germany, Solen from Canada... the list goes on. I really cannot name a US company that can compete with the exception of Magnepan (which comes to mind when you mention these thin speakers). If you are thinking of Bose as a world leader, they make crap... but my point is the US retaining leadership is a stretch of the imagination. The US has market share, but I current audio reviews claim that B&W is the hallmark of design. Many agree.
The provide a space-saving product that is low-end quality for the price. The problem is, the speakers have such a high frequency repsonse on the low end for the cubes that the cut-off on the sub is way too high. A good idea is to split up power with half of the amp pumping above aprox 250Hz. With a Bose system, half of the power will be at a freq 4X greater, and you need way more power on the lower end as you are driving a larger air mass.
Lame. 100's of different models are better.
Try NHT Super One(s) or the consumer B&W models (both about $290/pr) - both with a sub and the appropriate center chan to get the best results.
There are even automatic watches with slide rules on them. Check out the slide rule watches HERE. Not sure if there are any autos on this page, but the shop near my house has a new one. Something about a watch with PI on it.
a gene in fruitflies that when disabled doubles the lifespan of the fruitfly. The gene has been affectionately nicknamed "I'm Not Dead Yet." The gene actually manipulates your metabolism by makeing it so the LESS of your food is converted into calories.
A gene in a fruitfly will manipulate my metabolism? Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
It has for me, actually it never really had any appeal. I am forced to use it at work. Bleh.

The battle is still in the trenches.

I haven't watched as much TV since Ren & Stimpy went of the air. That was the high art of television. DVD someday??? I hope so.

There are hundreds to choose from... or if you want vintage, try an ebay for older Hamilton's or Omega's.

I actually have only one oud' recording worth mentioning, but others related.
