Before adding further acceleration, how about fix the current problems? Many people have problems with X locking up when using nvidia and RenderAccel (which give a huge speed boost before lock up). When I ask if there is a fix for it, the answer I get is "You shouldn't use it, it's experimental".
Patched don't have to be in the sence that you rip your pants and use ductape to patch it up. They can be just nice updates. For example, someone hacks the linux kernel so it works 20% faster and the code 30% cleaner and sends a patch to the mailing list. It is still a patch even though it makes the code nicer and not look like a overpuffed mushmellow man.
Before I RTFA I am gonna make a prediction on the results: OO.org is slower. I like using it more than MS Office but I can't get it to run very fast, mainly on slower computers. Older MS Office versions can run with good speeds on them. Maybe OO.org should release a minimal version for this kind of comps?
You have a choice. Every new patch dosn't mean a new release so normal users will run stable code. But then there are a few that like to live on the edge and download the CVS version, which contains a patch. You would be suprised how many people do that.
...I went to Indonesia and bought a legal version of Windows and brought it back here, would it still be legal? That means if I bought several hundred licenses there I could resell them here for a nice profit:D
How come radio is free to share music? How is downloading MP3's from internet any different? If the radio station pays royalities (I think they do) then I can pay royalities myself and start a P2P site. The revenue I generate from ads would go to the music companies and the users can download music for free! Would that be legal?
Its best to defeat the law before it gets into law, fortunately we have 3 readings to defeat it. No, 6. It has to go through 3 readings in the House of Commons and 3 in the House of Senate.
Probably the best way to defeat it, is to eighter write to your MP. I did it once before along with my class and we actually did something about that. But of course what they did was give us our exam earlier...
I've read the article and there is only one point that I see: illegal to dreak digital locks. It will stay legal to copy CD's for personal use. How come the article mentions nothing about P2P?
RTFA, it's not a dupe. Looking at the picture in the article it dosn't look like a bunch of cubes moving themselfs around as in the first case. It looks more complicated now.
...how much money he would save if he moved to Microsoft!

Linux port is comming soon :D And it's gonna use GTK1!?!?!
put their GUI on it and call it IE 7
I don't think they even did that.
Why though? IE7 looks exactly like Firefox.
'a negative vibe against advertising in general'
So why is this bad again?
And definitly rhythmbox
You can get more functionality out of it. A media player has been mentioned in some posts.
366 testers so far, but we need the network to grow!
Don't wish for more than you can chew!

Someone should make a scam email that says Microsoft has that updateand send it to all people. I wonder how many would click it...

All the joking aside, does anyonee think that Microsoft threatens the hardwarre companies?

I've took a look at the screenshot and I think that even GIMP looks more user friendly!
How about that big sidebar? It was in the early screenshots, but I don't remember seeing it recently...

Next thing we need is a fan made entirely of old computer cases!
You gotta move to soviet russia for that.

First the Canadian government wants to get a new Copyright Law and now the USA is going to change it's dumb patent laws.

Isn't MS Longhorn supposed to come out that year?
IE is really behind now. Firefox is starting to implement CSS3 and IE dosn't even have full CSS2!
