Where are you from Gravitie? (Topic Poster) I doubt you are from the UK however your Country / State may have simular laws prehaps? If you live in the UK..... as long as you are on your employers premises by the given start time your ok, You then have 3 minutes to make you way to your desk/work space. Using this law maybe frowned upon by your employers however you may be able to have any verbal / written warnings against yourself dismissed.
Those extra 3 minutes with the other half in the morning emboss a smile on my face for the rest of the day;)
I use Star Office at work and Open Office at home. Open/Star Office has certainly been noticed by MS however with a patented and closed source MS ".DOC" format (yes it's coming soon!), it may cause some hardship.
My last three job applications (CV's) were in.TXT format (containing a reason why I sent the document in this format) and I am proud to say that on 2/3 applications I got the job!
Oh and don't forget finances!

I used to run MLGC's (Midlands Games Community's, UK) LAN parties, also attended LNGC's LAN's (Leicester Networking Games Club, UK), 40+ PC's from VERY few mains outlets monthly, christ knows how but LNGC did it!
Lessons I have learnt to date were.....
1 - Dont route the mains cable through the legs of the barbecue!
In the outhouse where the power is pulled from. 50% of the LAN were pretty pissed off when they were told to power down as the football team needed to move the BBQ and reroute the mains.
2 - Use dedicated servers for the play offs!
When myself and Jahar were playing for an RA2 tournement, EL kinda gets pissed off when he hosted the server on his PC, as the game took over 3 hours to complete....
Jahar had 70+ Tanks ish
Kehl had 30 Froggy Artillery ish
ED ( I WON £40 ) RAR =D
But aside from that..... Venue must have.....
