In my opinion (as an educator of technology to children), be honest with your children. As a role model, this is the best you can do to ensure safety on the internet. Without scaring them, educate them on the net's potential dangers. Make them feel as though they can approach you. Censorship only peeks curiosity.
Don Tapscott's Growing Up Digital is a great book on the topic. Well worth the read!
