It's interesting that you spend so much time discussing a statistic that you don't not even specifically detail in your post. The site indicates that the female-to-male ratio in India (as well as China, your other favorite target) is 94:100. Ok, but how do you infer that infanticide and targeted abortions are the only way to account for this? Latvia has a ratio of 119:100, so should we assume that in Latvia, they practice infanticide and targeted abortions against male babies?
These facts don't indicate bias. So what if reporters tend to be liberal and vote Democrat? Show us some actual bias in reporting.

A really good book on the subject is Stephen Levy's Artificial Life. It's done from a somewhat historical perspective - includes work done by Von Neuman up to more modern stuff like Tierra. Very accessible to the lay person, fun for a biologist/computer scientist as well.
With 128kbps mp3s taking up about 1 megabyte per minute, a 5 gig player gives you a little over 80 hours of music. That's way more than you need in a day or a weekend! While I don't think people need to settle for 5 gigs, I'd like to see more of an emphasis on size/features rather than capacity.

P.S. Oceania is at war with Eastasia!
