I agree that Cryptonomicon was a great read,,, right up to the last 50 pages. Suddenly the main character solves his remaining problems with one explosive idea (which I'm still not convinced would work); and he gets the girl.
What was Neal thinking? Did his publisher say sorry Neal, you have to keep it below 930 pages?
