    And with veto rights it can veto any decision to kick it out. There is no veto override in the UN for permanent Security Council member states.

    The US is one of the permanent Security Council members. The US can't be kicked out without US consent, just like China and Russia can't be kicked out without their own consent.

    You realize that's not within their power, right? The US is part of the permanent set of security council members and has veto authority, just as China and Russia do. No such change will happen without the complete dissolution of the UN.

    Given human history, I'd say every country is hypocritical in this regard to some extent or other. Some are better at hiding or mitigating it than others, but none are immune to it.

    Also, the current party system will never allow proportional representation. It would be possible to change a given State's voting system absent Federal tampering. With Federal tampering, no State will be allowed to do such a thing.

    The abolition of slavery began with the States, as did voting rights, women's rights, gay rights, and pretty much every other advancement of equality. They were eventually co-opted by the Federal government once the writing was on the wall that they couldn't be stopped. Just because States have done bad things does not mean States rights are not important.

    And the larger the government, the less likely it can be saved once it inevitably becomes corrupt. I prefer a government that can be changed by the people to a government that cannot be changed by the people.

    Like most things, this trend was started by States. Without the Civil War, the US would have had slaves for a number of years longer, but the eventual reconciliation (as happened in every other country on Earth) would have been far less traumatic.

    The only way to change things that I've seen is for everyone to use as much public money as possible. Bleed the system dry as fast as possible until it is no longer sustainable (technically it's not sustainable already, but I mean to make the short term even shorter). At that point, it may be possible for sections of the country to secede and create countries which are small enough to be accountable to their citizenry.

    There are thousands of completely irrational laws on the books in the USA, and the criminalization of suicide is one that exists in many States.

    There's a lot of blame to go around. Anyone blaming just one segment of government, or just one person, is not paying attention or is trying to manipulate people.

    Nvidia supercomputing clusters aren't "repurposed" for highly parallel tasks. That's what they're designed for. They don't just produce graphics cards.
