Pivot tables are a very useful tool. Unfortunately, most people just don't get them. By them, I mean the average business person.
In my experience at a mid-sized retail shop, pivot tables could be an incredibly useful tool for the business types. Unfortunately, the same people that will spend hours playing with simple formulas, colored columns, and font sizes in Excel will not expend the effort to learn how to use a pivot table.
As a result, I spend a lot of time coding to give them the same things they would get with pivot tables.
It always depresses me when one won't put forth an effort to learn the ins and outs of a tool that is supposedly critical to their work.
Oh well, it keeps me in a job.
I am in the process of reading all of his works. Digesting his responses here will probably set me back a week!
