Steve/Apple doesn't do things without a good reason. Posting poetry to try and disuade hackers from their tasks has some entertainment value---it mad the news didn't it?
I think this is a way Apple can keep track of the progress the hackers have made. With all of the code obfuscation in the OS. the revelation of the poetry tells Apple which sections of the OS have beeen compromised, and where Apple has to tighten up the security.
I believ announcemnts of this and further Apple poetry will help Apple keep the OS more secure.
So what do you think?
Va Tech invested a tremendous amount in developing the air conditioning system for 1100 G5's, not to mention the racks and Inifiniband architecture.
I find it had to believe that they would tear it down after only six months of use.
Of course if they took out all of the the G5's They would be left with 92 racks (1100 G5's @ 12/rack) They could fill those racke with ~3850 G5 XServes. At 7700 processors they might hit the 30+ Teraflops to knock the earth simulator out of #1:)
Isn't the more important question who would buy the division? My best guess (and hope) would be IBM. They already have an understanding of the underlying architecture for the 7400 and 7500 series chips, and their new fab could probably use the business brought in by the lower speed embedded market
The new music service has over 200,000 songs, and on the first few days of the service was probably inundated with 'hits'. (No pun intended)
I think Apple may have a PR bonanza on their hands if they can tell me that the demand for all of this music was supplied by Apple Xserves. When Apple gets around to releasing the Windows version of iTunes 4.0, have Apple tell me that the entire music collection is being delivered to both Mac and Windows users by bank after bank of Xserves.
Wouldn't this get corporate America's attention?
So I ask again, what's serving the music up?
