Don't forget the legitimate things that they can do during these long flights. Like studing the latest changes to the regulations, the latest company policies, etc. Most of these things are now available in digital form, so now what are they supposed to do? Print them out and scatter the pages throughout the cockpit?

I have COX service, and they don't offer a Cable Card - so I'm stuck with their solution only.

The only purpose behind showing your ID to board an airplane is to ensure to the airline that you didn't sell your (discount) ticket to someone else. It does absolutely nothing to improve security. All of the Sept 11'th terrorists had legitimate IDs.

I agree, however you need to explain that to the School Boards. As the responder earlier stated, he is REQUIRED BY LAW TO KNOW WHERE THE STUDENTS ARE. There are way too many parents who don't realize that their High School student is more mature than their Grade School student, and should be treated the same by both them and the School System. The problem comes in when a student is lost (kidnapped) or injured while at school. Guess who is at fault? Guess who gets sued?

What good will it do for your children to have an excellent education when there are no jobs out there, because the masses are too igorant to compete with the rest of the world? The competiveness of a society depends more upon the education of it's lowest educated members, not it's highest. Remember, if you don't pay to educate them, you will pay to incarcerate them. Which is cheaper in the long run?
