Don't be a jackass. If you aren't going to bother addressing the obvious differences between copyright infringement and petty theft, then you don't have any business expressing your ignorant opinion on the subject.

The point is, since you are incapable of figuring it out yourself, that accountability has completely gone out the window. Whether I am a jackass or not has nothing to do with my comparison of petty theft to anything. I am a jackass because I am a jackass, it is unrelated to the topic. The obvious similarity is that both are wrong and the fact that you feel that there are different levels of wrong demonstrates how right I am. Rest assured that my opinion is anything but ignorant.

You know I read somewhere recently that a majority (I will look for the story and post a link) people do not think that software use of the unlicensed variety is not stealing. This coupled with the fact that it is so ease to get information from one place to another seems to be part of the problem. How many forums have you been on that have license keys to software or other IP that seem to imply that it is OK to share this information? I believe that we need to start to instil in our children right and wrong and it needs to include that it is not OK to steal software or anything else for that matter. You cannot âoetaste testâ fruit in a grocery store, you cannot download copyrighted documents with impunity, and you cannot give these things away to the general public because it is stealing and it is wrong.

    Methane (Biogas) from Anaerobic Digesters

Methane is a gas that contains molecules of methane with one atom of carbon and four atoms of hydrogen (CH4 ). It is the major component of the "natural" gas used in many homes for cooking and heating. It is odorless, colorless, and yields about 1,000 British Thermal Units (Btu) [252 kilocalories (kcal)] of heat energy per cubic foot (0.028 cubic meters) when burned. Natural gas is a fossil fuel that was created eons ago by the anaerobic decomposition of organic materials. It is often found in association with oil and coal.

The same types of anaerobic bacteria that produced natural gas also produce methane today. Anaerobic bacteria are some of the oldest forms of life on earth. They evolved before the photosynthesis of green plants released large quantities of oxygen into the atmosphere. Anaerobic bacteria break down or "digest" organic material in the absence of oxygen and produce "biogas" as a waste product. (Aerobic decomposition, or composting, requires large amounts of oxygen and produces heat.) Anaerobic decomposition occurs naturally in swamps, water-logged soils and rice fields, deep bodies of water, and in the digestive systems of termites and large animals. Anaerobic processes can be managed in a "digester" (an airtight tank) or a covered lagoon (a pond used to store manure) for waste treatment. The primary benefits of anaerobic digestion are nutrient recycling, waste treatment, and odor control. Except in very large systems, biogas production is a highly useful but secondary benefit.

Good source to understand organisms and methane.

I noticed while reading the article that the word patent did not come up as much as I would have thought. The interesting thing is that companies are quickly swiping up all of the patents that have not been applied for, yet folks who know better are scratching their heads. I wonder how it is that some of these patents even get awarded. The idea of Intellectual Property makes plenty of sense.

One should be REASONABLY rewarded for something that they came up with. One of the problems now is that because some things, Elvis' estate, do not seem to die, things are carried to far, with respect to copyright. I apologize that this turned into a rant and does not make all that much sense, but I think that my problem is rooted in quicksand and the more I think about it the more it seems to spiral into some thing that I cannot really understand.

It really is too bad that he is right. I have used Linux since 1994 and I have always thought of it as my tool. I have had consulting jobs where I did not even consider installing Linux, plain and simply because the customer would never have been able to support it. The IT staff was two people, one who knew how to turn on the computers and servers and one who knew how to crash them. Not being one of those people who builds in repeat work I really had no choice in OSes. I might disagree that the Apple OS cannot replace Windows, theoretically, but practically it cannot. Bill Gates was smart early on by staying focused on DOS, licenses, and getting his OS on as many machines as possible. It is the sheer quantity that worked in Bill's favor and he is the, hands down, winner.

I have never actually paid all that much attention to the exact amount of bandwidth that I use. I play EQ2 and leave my characters (until recently) logged in all of the time to sell items. This in mind, I hope that my ISP is not wasting resources in tracking my usage, they would find out that I am quite boring. If they did, however, and were to limit my access I would be very upset, there is the term unlimited used to describe my service. I have to wonder though, is the music industry (or anyone that wants monitoring done) going to pay the ISPs to keep track of what we are doing? It will not be cheap to watch all of those packets and much more importantly, there is no way that anyone, save for just stopping usage after "X" amount of bandwidth is used up, to stop the sharing.

One of my biggest concerns, when I travel, are the local customs and laws. I have to admit that if this works, I mean works well, it may take some of the stress of traveling abroad for those who go to many different countries. I need a PDA that tells me the local customs and helps me with the language.
