I'm right there with you brother. Live in a first strike target zone (next to major east coast naval base) and remember that irrational fear well, running around the back of my mind...
Can I send drawings, images, graphed data or a complex formula (in an easily readable as hand-written format) as part of a text email. I don't think so. I use HTML email specifically because it allows all of the above to be embedded. Otherwise half the email I send would have to contain one or more attachments. So which do you prefer someone send: An attached Excel spreadsheet containing macros or an embedded graph of the data?
You're welcome. The split phase system is an awkward (or convenient) legacy of the Westinghouse adaptation to the early Edison DC power transmission system (Two 110V DC legs and a single ground return).
You have failed basic electrical engineering. The double breaker taps the two separate hot legs. You're statement about "same phase" is only (partially) valid because homes are only fed single phase 240V with a transformer center tap connection refered to as the "neutral". The voltage from either one leg to neutral is the familiar 120V. These are often referred to (somewhat incorrectly) as two separate phases. IF that double breaker is installed in a commercial three-phase panel, it would tap two unique phases of the feed.
Double (and triple) breakers are designed to trip all phases if any one exceeds the designed current limit. This may be accomplished by a simple tie between the switch levers or by an internal link (this case usually only has one external switch lever).
Please don't do any electrical work on someone's home -- you might burn the place down or kill someone.
Turn on your oven then check your meter. I'll wait... The meter is spinning isn't it? Your oven is a 240V resistive load pulling equally from both phases. By the way, phase is somewhat of a misnomer in household application because it's really a single phase with a transformer center tap (the neutral leg) that's tied to ground.
Think recycled air, no outside ventilation, electronic equipment running constantly... Oh, and apparently there's a burnt metallic odor whenever they return from an EVA. You get the idea?
Brown sugar is just the second (or third) extraction in sugar processing. It's still sugar, with molasses in it. Granulated sugar is not bleached, it's the first pass, pure extracted sugar from the processing of sugarcane or sugar beets.
It's not an insightful "Duh". While it's not totally new, this is one of the first long term studies comparing consumption of different forms of sugar. The study showed there's a distinct difference between consuming equal amounts of sucrose from sugarcane and fructose from corn. Even the rats that were fed twice as much sucrose didn't gain weight like the rats being fed fructose.
Or you could do what we did 20 years ago to make our HAM gear portable -- drag around a couple lead-acid gel-cell batteries in a backpack. That'll get you a couple hours talk time!
Well, not only were they apparently hacked; but, they were (their data was) being used to find information on potential dissidents. This may have pushed too far beyond what they initially considered an acceptable bending of their principles.
I hope that was tongue-in-cheek... There's nothing to prevent a Chinese company from forking and producing a compatible linux based smartphone OS. Think Red Flag Linux.

Oh wait, I get it... Bill Gates, et. al. (aka the Borg), Intellectual Property, and Nuclear Energy all under one roof. They MUST BE EVIL!
Intellectual Ventures is the parent of TerraPower, which we discussed here on /. a few days ago. You may recall: Bill Gates May Build Small Nuclear Reactor.

This sounds too much like the toothing hoax from a few years ago.
Damn. You had me going there for a second. Seriously, I've considered blocking the Facebook.com domain at my household router...

I miss the "real" Pepsi. Not that it matters, since all I drink is diet now anyway. It's just not the same : (
Now, if Facebook would go down... That would yeild a significant productivity increase.
What am I doing wrong?
Watching Youtube. Now get back to work!

Honey is concentrated bee barf. Tasty, but gross.

That's the one I was thinking of. There are also cloth or silicone keyboards that fold up and a virtual keyboard
Damn, I didn't get the email. Thanks for reminding me... *grabs credit card*
Then buy a blue tooth keyboard and bring it along.

Yes, but any enterprising billionaire can make some... Generating plutonium is, like, '40's tech. I think Google can handle it...
good point : )
Does it matter? Chinese outnumber Americans 4 to 1...
Some of the execs are likely to be Chinese nationals.
