I would rent out that uterus. Hell, I'm sure you would get payed very well in the process. Of course, I'm not a women so I don't know anything about such things. Any female geeks want to share some insite on this? How much would you want to get payed for this labor of love (bad pun, I know)?
Correct. In fact, if anyone asks me about custom built PCs I just tell them to go with Dell, Gateway..or any other major brand. The reason being is that at some point they will need the support. And I sure as hell wouldn't want to put me in that situation of having to support the boxes I personally build for joe-shmoe. Don't get me wrong. I build nice PCs (for the right price), but the user will eventually fsck up the OS and other software. Besides, I can't offer a warranty with the way harddrive crap out these days. YUK!! My head hurts just thinking about such an albatross around my neck!
No asswipe!! I'm not a dumbass. I've been rated with an IQ of 132. My problem is that I haven't had the money to pay for a full blown education of a university. I will be going back to school. But at the moment, I don't see a need to. Thus, I gleefully say "SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE!!" You know nothing about me other then what I just told you.
Corporation will pick someone with certifications and job experience over someone fresh out of college. That's a fact! But...if you have both a degree and the same experience, then your in great shape.
Well, I have certifications and job experience going for me to land me a job. I don't have a College degree (two years of college under my belt), but then at least I'm not in debt over it either. Besides, I STILL don't know if I want to be working with computers all my life. Which by the way is primarly why I haven't pushed for the effort.
It's too much of a liability. Trust me, I know. I almost got sued because some ladies drive physically crashed after I worked on her Windowz problems (spyware locking up PC). So even if you have them sign a before and after contract, just the rigamaroll of having to go through all that is a pain in the ass. No thank you, I would have to be incorporated with a few other people. This is NOT something you want to do by yourself.
It's not about how much data you use. It's about how saturated the broadband pipe is saturated. So, once it comes to that point, then it might be meetered. Untill then, why would you be in favor of artificially creating a lack of supply when there is simply more then enough infrastructure to prevent that.
Good points. But I mainly use broadband for better response times and bandwidth for online gaming. The second reson is for the 24/7 connection. I just leave my PC on all the time with MSN and ICQ running in the background.
Get real! If he kills someone, it's his own damn fault. And I don't care if the devil made him do it. As for sueing...good luck. Parody is perfectly legal. So fuck the little squirt.
I don't trust this scheme. I smell spyware being loaded into these movies or something. Last thing I want is for my harddrives to be commanded with del *.mp3 when I least expect it.
Seriously. The RIAA has gotten so outta wack that their statements are nothing more then a PR stunt. In a nut-shell, it's BS! I'm going to continue to share music. And for those that enjoy the MP3s that you download, yet do not show your respect (through a moddist payment) to those artists can go strait to hell. But as for the RIAA, all of there members can just take a long walk of a short pier.
And to think Slashdot was a method of "Lecture Hall Back-Channeling". Of course, I trust no ones facts or opionions at face value. Also, I suggest you don't trust mine either without further doing investigation for yourself.
interstellar
\In`ter*stel"lar\, a. Between or among the stars; as, interstellar space. --Bacon.
Like I said, technically it is *interstellar* as the earth is between stars or rather a cluster of stars all around us.
This is just a pipe-dream. But I often wondered if the Internet could be reborn though another connection medium. I was thinking it being based on quantum communication. The reason for QC would be that it can't be controlled by the FCC, has the ability to (in theory) be accessed wirelessly and at a global level.
I don't think the Earth is capable of interstellar travel. You must be thinking of the Death Star.
Technically, the Earth is in intersellar travel at any given time. You see, the Earth rotates around the sun. Which in turn rotates around the galaxy. Of course, the galaxy is also in in a state of motion. Now if you fast forward a few billion years into the future, every star will be in a new order relative to the Earth. So at that point, you can kiss good-bye your list of known constallations.
Throughout an entire human lifetime, the collective count of every neuron transmission in the brain will never reach the total amount of stars in the universe! So even if we had the physical means to travel to all of the stars, our mental capacity would be the limiting factor.
It doesn't matter if the density of the bit is infinite. It's still a bloody bit with a *single* North and South poll. Thus, binary data is marked by individual megnetic fluxes.
Sorry, but your wrong. It's only 3D storage when you start stacking bits directly on top of each other on a 2D plane. So it's still 2D, just more effecient.
My father has a BJC-6000. And and I must say, it sucks. It takes for ever for the printer to boot-up (recalibration and what-not), and the ink is always washed out as though it's printing from a cheap water color kit. And this is when using verious brands of paper. I'm not saying that all Canon printers suck, but this particular model takes the official "suckage award".
So, do you want to pay for the bandwidth to host Slashdot? There is nothing wrong with recooping your losses. It's not like Slashdot is whoreing out products and advertisements through every topic that's posted.
For a hardcore gamer, yes I would agree that on-board solutions offer sub-par performance. But to the average user, playing the SIMs will work just fine with on-board sound and audio. And when it comes time to replace the motherboard, you will more then likely be getting USB2.0, IEEE 1394 (Firewire), and Serial ATA. Those cards alone amount to a whole new motherboard with those features already included. I suppose you would have to factor in a new CPU and RAM type. Still, not a bad trade off.
It's getting to the point that having everything on-board on the MoBo is actually a good idea. They are cheap, and despensible. If something goes wrong, you simply swap out the board and you end up getting an upgrade to the rest of the components in the processes. At this point, with all-in-one boards becomming more and more speciallized like the nForce from nVidia, it's starting to look like the PC is becomming more console like in nature. As for the gaming consoles of today, we can just look at the PS2. It's platform can function as a PC basically with the added network interface and USB ports. And the GameCube is basically a mini Apple. It has an IBM CPU with ATI graphics. If it had any more memory, it could prolly run OSX. Basically, each generation the line between what defines PC and Console blur more and more.

It's not going to happen. The entertainment industry is a cash-cow for the polititions. And as my sig says...

Don't make fun of my floppy. I know it's small, but I use it alot. :(

How about a solution to the unemployment issue! *sigh*, I'm not happy today.
