Too many game commercials lack a concept. They just wrap fifteen seconds of nonsense around fifteen seconds of game footage. However one exception springs to mind.
A couple of years ago, there was a spot for Syphon Filter 2 on the Playstation that featured what looked to be in-game footage of the main character approaching an enemy. Suddenly, the enemy ran out from behind a box, cowered nervously and screamed something like, "Please don't shoot me with that rifle!"
The main character replied, scrolling through his weapons, "Ok, how about a flame-thrower? Or a rocket launcher? Ooo, how 'bout this Taser?"
The enemy relented saying, "That doesn't sound so bad." At which point the main guy electrocuted him into screaming submission.
Funny. Violent. And a great way to show off in-game graphics while still being entertaining.
These discs look strikingly similar to Sony's MiniDisc format. I used a MiniDisc walkman for years and I honestly can't remember ever hearing it skip once. If this new format is in any way related (and it's a good guess that it is) I wouldn't be too worried about skippage.
