  2. Simple... They aren't on Why Developers Are Switching To Macs · · Score: 3, Insightful

"The explosion of interest in smartphone development is helping the trend, with iPhone development lock-in to the Mac environment the chief motivating factor for Apple as a platform of choice for mobile development."

This is why Apple is retarded. They miss out on developers by restricting the platform/IDE and not supporting Java or Mono. Then they place absurd restrictions on iPhone applications. Anyone who is thinking of getting a mac just so they can develop on the iPhone should ask themselves this question.

WHY SHOULD I SWITCH PLATFORMS IF APPLE CAN LOCK DOWN MY iPHONE APP WITHOUT REASON!!!

I built a 2 tap Kegerator with a tile counter and a computer to weigh the kegs and tell how much beer is left in each keg. Check it out here http://photos.yahoo.com/melendez_21 I also installed a glass door to keep liquor cold with a black light.

How about a secratary. That would organize you much more then pen and paper. And since you no longer have to go to class, I'd say a kegerator and a fake id. As these of course are the first things I got. Who goes to school when you can learn from slashdot

  5. Re:Dune on A Good Summer Read? · · Score: 2, Informative

I think dune was a great series. In respons to the last two books, most people complain that none of the original characters were in it and it was hard to understand. My take on those two books were that they were the start of a new series based on the dune universe. Rather than Herbert making an entirely new universe with new rules an new characters, he simply set his new story thousands of years after the original dune books. For those that haven't read the last two books I'd say hold off for two years when the seventh and final dune book will be out. Hopefully Herbert's son can follow his fathers notes well enough, as his prequals are excelent.
