  1. 64 Megs... Why? Has that always been that way? on New Xbox Live Game Every Week · · Score: 3, Interesting

I can understand the desire to allow folks the ability to transport their Arcade game(s) on a memory unit .... but *force* developers to adhere to that? Why?

I mean, is it a "consistent user experience" thing? Personally, no one I know that has a 360 transports their Arcade games, except by HDD, and would rather have larger, richer Arcade games instead.

64 meg games will be a HUGE disadvantage eventually .... *especially* if no one is transporting their games via memory card.

Just let developers make the Arcade games they want, and let the buying public decide how big is too big.

  3. It's called an unveiling on Bill Gates Hints At Xbox 360 Features · · Score: 1

    Seems like possible Trollage ...

The features will become known on May 12, hence the unveiling. They are going to "unveil" (That is to say, remove the perverbial "veil") the features in good time my man.

  4. SPOT ON! That's *exactly* it on The ESRB Don't Get No Respect · · Score: 1

As digital content means more things to more people a universal rating system should be implemented. A PG movie, or a PG album or a PG game or a PG TV show should be on same plain of existance, and should have a rating to reflect that. But today we have PG movies, E games, TV-14 (or something) TV shows, and EXPLICIT LYRIC albums. Come on ... that's a mess.

As more content comes out on more formats, a simple consistant rating system will be needed for everyone's sake and for everyone's friggin piece of mind.

The situation so clear when put into such simple, true terms.

It's crazy to think about all the dances these companies do to over complicate their dumb, greedy, little corporate lives.

Those numbers make the ratio sound really bad. The ~60 million (Is that right?) units is comprised of 40+ some million PS2's ... and those one or two million online players are half on Xbox Live. I'm sure you can do the math.

Live is doing pretty well all things considered, its the PS2 that's going to have a hard time going online.

I agree ... open source console makes sense to me too... BUT, is there a way to keep the sandbox unrine free?

I would love to play all kinds of crazy games on my console ... but could my console stay safe from getting fried by some stupid script kiddie? Or some poorly coded game that causes the console to become unstable, or tries to update the firmware and fails. Is that possible, should that be a concern?

Ya ... I'd need to see the movie again, but I wouldn't be surprised if nearly everything Arnold says was Sequel-Ready.

and no, I am not a conspiracy theorist ;)

Is your whole post tounge-in-cheek then?
If anything, using the "Kazaa-like" computing was a convienient plot device. I wouldn't argue with you if there was more to it ... but how else would T3 have dealt with the SkyNet conundrum? By ditching the "central-supercomputer-runs-everything" story, what other direction could the film have gone in?
If anything, its a swipe at AI ... but that subtext has been there the whole time.

what assumptions about the tiny details of American life and other little oddities the Japanese end up concluding are going to appear in the game. In other words, I wonder what little things we take for granted and/or don't think about are going to be highlighted in the game and make for a funny pause in the key market. What *does* the "All-American" bathroom look like?

  14. Nintendo doesn't need to... on Nintendo Profits Drop As Gamecube Loses Ground · · Score: 1

be a part of the forever-ascending-bottom-line-game. They are an established gaming company that always has a gaming ace or two up it's sleeves. Why do some people feel the need to say; "If you don't rise, you sink."? I can make lots of people happy, turn a tidy profit, grow technically and emotionally and see countless places and people most people won't ... and my boat won't rise out of the water, let alone sink ;)
