Exactly.
From the article: "But it is mostly accurate, and the movie throws you just enough softballs for you to impress your movie-mates as well as the patrons two rows in front and back of you." How about you STFU when watching a film in a movie theatre? No one cares what you're thinking or how smart you are.
The movie theater is not your living room.
What that site fails to address is the out of sync audio that you get with plasmas.
Plasmas look great, but because of the picture delay I can't watch one for any amount of time.
It's not such a simple process to shorten the time to DVD release.
I work in the sound department of a large motion picture studio and all the work I do is for DVD.
Nowadays, every DVD release is dictated by the marketing department. Almost two years ago we fundamentally changed every aspect of our workflow in order to be able to deliver final DVD audio to the authoring department faster. We shortened our delivery time by a week, but marketing wants it much faster - often, this is not possible.
The biggest problem is that the company is so large and there are so many titles in the pipe that the scheduling of elements being created by outside venders is very problematic - final approved picture, final approved audio, extras, subtitles, DVD menus, etc.
Not to mention the fact that there are so many idiots up the chain that have no idea what's involved in getting the actual work accomplished.
The President of my company has said that he wants to eventually see the day when a person can walk into the theater, watch a film and on the way out buy the DVD.
This could, and probably will happen, but it would likely be a domestic only 5.1 and/or Lt/Rt with little or no extras.
The replication time alone would probably push back the theatrical release a week or so.
No, because Sony will find some way to cripple mp3 or tie it into ATRAC.
"We want to push Atrac on our music download services and remain convinced that it is the best format on the market," the ZDNet France source said. "But it is clear that the industry benchmark is Apple's iPod, which is compatible with MP3."
It might still get owned, but redoing the tests with the OS that the G5 was meant to run on will be a better comparison.
What can it hurt, it's only 9 days away from release.
Exactly.
It's the HD causing most of the heat, but really, it's not that bad.
It's such a tiny machine and it's pretty impressive that the heat dissipation of the 7457 chip @ 1Ghz is only 7.5W.
Sweet machine.
G just means generation.
Motorola has no claims to it since it's just an Apple marketing term.
I don't care what they call it, I'm more interested in how they're going to change the case.
The current El Capitan case design is nearly perfect.
It'll be interesting to see what Apple and Jonathan Ive have been doing lately.
Animations Here are some nice animations of the path of the asteroid.
Submitter seems to be a "PC guy" too since he can't seem to spell iPod correctly.
- just sayin'

Sony has the largest catalog in Hollywood with the recent acquisition of MGM. BTW, the next Blu-ray disc is going to be House of Flying Daggers.
Hoshi would've said, "Well, duh!". (i love her)

Hell, I'd just love to have access for a weekend and load up Folding@Home on it. Love to see those stats!

Yes there's an update for the iPod for both Mac and Windows: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/269 25

This is perfect for all of those NASCAR fanatics. Watch as some guy destroys his car into a wall and listen to his pit crew cry at the same time!
It's 588 since the standard full size rack is 42 units. 588 = fourteen 42U racks. Simple!
