Steve Jobs never calls Objective-C/Cocoa perfect, he just thinks that it makes for a much better development tool than.NET.
How the hell did that even get posted to Slashdot in the first place? Does anyone actually check anything before these things go live?
Check a few comments up for the incredibly boring emails back and forth, where basically the guy starts off by telling Jobs that Objective-C sucks without giving any reason. Makes me wonder why (and IF) he got a response in the first place.
Okay, now everyone raise their hand who works for a company that doesn't have annoying MBAs parroting random phrases targeted to management. And self-employed coders don't count.

Hang on a tick, your attention span increases? I have never found anyone who has smoked around me to have their attention span increase at all... Usually the other way around. You could have mentioned a few other chemicals that could've helped him focus a lot more. Don't get me wrong, if it works like that for you then don't stop now!
I wouldn't necessarily advise the use of chemicals to help someone unless I had a very, very good idea of how it would affect them. I'd much sooner recommend lots of methods that have already gotten posted here and then if that doesn't work - get checked out for ADHD. Fast as you can to start treating it while it can still help you reach your goals in time.
Definitely agree. Make sure that someone higher up than you knows the situation and at least tries to voice it to marketing and QA. Then at least when you miss the deadline or piss of QA it will make it more obvious that the issue really stems from bad planning - promises made by someone who has no idea whatsoever (aka "sales").
As a 21 year-old web developer who has worked in the field since I turned 18, my age has consistantly worked against me. I've had people e-mail me that my experience and skills blow the other condidates out of the water and then once they meet me in person tell me that they would never hire me and that I should feel lucky to get a position paying half the market rate. With the contract I have currently, I telecommute and the company I work for still doesn't know I only just started legally drinking.
