    is SOOOOO much better than 98 or NT. As a corp desktop supporter, 3 years on an OS is 1 year longer than the life span of the PC and completely redundant. Here, at a large IT facility we replace every desktop on a 2year cycle, and the OS is a site license and installed from an image anyways. Once on the network software is 'pushed' to keep the app's current.

    make censor ware (opt-in only) viable, and that is an open block list. As long as the companies insist in holding the blocking list secret it will continue to be a tool for manipulation. I am all for the parents of children having the ability/desire to be responsible for their kids, but who's to say the censor ware is not blocking legitimate things ?

    stable than any but the most rarified NT box.
    It would even give my solaris a run for the money.. What about 3d support..NO GAMES NO REASON to switch...is the same reason I don't run a dedicated solaris or linux box.

    Been on Pac-Bell as a static IP for about 2 years. My download run to max of 800kbs, but upload never exceeds 120 kbs, regardlesss of the fact that I should get 384 :( The line is UP 95% of the time though, which is a good thing since Pac-Bells customer service is the worst in the FREE WORLD.) I looked into cable in this area but my friends on it have worse expiernces. I hate PAC-Bell but I am not leaving my dependable if slightly slow connect for a cable system (ie astound) that can't stay up for more than 2 days running. Granted astound or seren is new to the neighborhood but have friend on astound service, phone, cable, and internet who can't even make a phone call during peak hours.

    is not good money ?? As a repo man I worked 3 to 4 days a week, at night always of course. Actually one day of that was purely research, calling around posing as family members or salesmen. And the bottom line is I had a KEY to 95 % of the cars I recovered, or a manufaturer's key gun which makes it easy. If people would pay for what they bought there would be no need for these folks but so many people spend the car payment on a stereo and don't seem to understand why the car dealer is upset :).

    the last Star Wars wasn't Star wars either. It had many similarities to the New Mummy movie...
    Poor script, unbelievable characters, a very contrived story. At least the new mummy movie has some funny points AND NO JAR JAR EITHER.

    exactly OS2 and Posix support is a Govt. mandate.easily removed and generally quite useless. I personally have not yet found anything that would not work when I removed these files about 6 related to the compliance issues. I would however be very interested IF SOMEONE DID FIND SOMETHING that required them to run...

    you really think so ?? Never done anything ? I find that hard to believe, but maybe it is true. So you can be the LAST one they come and get. Everyone who has done somthing, don't ask, it might be contagious, will already be gone.

    While ANY INDIVIDUAL AGENT may in fact be dedicated to the betterment of the US, they also follow orders blindly and who determines what is for OUR GOOD. The FBI of course, how could we be expected to know the things ourselves.

    ...but like every other government organization the are for the good of the FBI NOW. The ones to watch out for are the quiet like NSA. The only time we here from them is at senate appropriations time. The FBI at least has to petition congress for money. the CIA/NSA has found ways to make it outside the US, so they can fund the ops that the US congress might interfere with.

    Also if the repo man is ANY good the only way you'll find out is when he honks driving out of your driveway or when the dead-beat tries to drive his car again :)

    I say this as a retired repo man from the Bay Area Calif :) A shitty job but it DOES PAY WELL.

    Golf courses are an environmental HAZARD. They USE MORE CHEMICALs than ANYTHING but an agri-bussiness farm. The land around a golf course is polluted by over-fertilization, the animal life that is lured into these seemlingy healthy zones is likewise poisoned and pass the contagions to their tainted offspring. A natural course would be ANOTHER STORY entirely and IF THERE IS such a thing I'd love to hear about it.

    is the US produces a HUGE surplus of food which we sell to the rest of the world. I could see a 25 % cut in GreenHouse gases if we cut back on food production to just that which the US needs. This policy could kill two birds with one stone, less greenhouse gasses AND a RADICAL DROP in world population due to starvation. Ask any expert in world affairs and I bet you'll find they agree that the next BIG war will be fought OVER/FOR FOOD.

    to be cutting edge ? LOLOLOL They subscribe the the same service as 90% of the radio stations, they pay the same fees to play songs for a period of time so it makes financial sense to OVERPLAY those songs. The more air time the less they 'payed' for each song. Is soooo much like payola these days I gave up on Radio. MP3's in the car is the way to go...

    ... Is a simple fact, Tech Sup. has a High turn-over, either you acknowledge it and harness it or you SUCK. Train the new employees, and provide a place within for your Tech Supporters. 2nd and 3rd level support are perfect. They can provide much needed systems experience to application programming groups as well. A good indicator to a companies health is the number of employees who've climbed the ladder so to speak...
