DEC TRU 64 is leaps and bounds ahead, err was I suppose as development seems to have nearly halted, of any unix I've ever used. The alpha hardware ROCKS. DEC marketing is the WORST in the world. They got bought for a nickel by Compaq and screwed horribly. A friend is a CE for DEC (COMPAQ) and is being pushed to drop TRU64 and VMS and get M$ training, as if the world needed another MC$E....
There are 4 cable companies and 2 dsl providers, not to mention oodles of folks who will be a 3rd party for your connect here in Calif.
The cable deregulation is FINALLY starting to pay off in the SF bay area at least. It took nearly 12 months of infrastructure work to get there though.
Does the privacy commish actually have teeth ?
Here in the States we have 'self-policed' privacy
laws which of course mean they apply to us as citizens but not to the corp's:(
It is actually the title of the book, published in 1965, and yes several times but like the above guy mentions I transposed the final scene of the movie with that of the book, and yes even though I remember it being short it is in fact a novel....
and there is no set limit over the posted it is called by the officer at a safe amount above the posted given traffic and weather conditions. You can be a ticket for driving the limit if conditions warrant slower usage.
NSA machines are taken down and scanned regularly for trojans and other guests. A good friend of mine is a physicist for several govt. projects of which he wont talk, but his laptop is replaced every two weeks or so.
Maybe I did not state it well but you clarified it. The bottom line, Yahoo! could up and leave France and let them run their own auction, but they rather bend over backwards and continue to make money, a perfectly CORPORATE attitude.
but Yahoo! was NOT FORCED to remove NAZI stuff from US sites, THEY MADE THE CHOICE to for fear of offending all those CONSUMERS in France. If they did not like the ruling they could have simply done what you or I would do and not DO BUSINESS with the French. I am not even going to begin to voice my RAMPANT ANTI-FRENCH sentiment, because no matter how justified, this is NOT the place:)
After reading some about the Hague Treaty there is a stipulation that if local laws permit the behavior then foreign enforcement is dis-allowed. Now we will see how the constitution and our BILL of RIGHTS really holds up...
They claim it will be back with 2.5 but they LIE ALOT. I hate the way my unsub'd machine works now.
It is useless until 'they' decide to fix it which will be never.
than Netscape or Aol's browser having every link point to them. Is this any different than the $$ driven smart search put out by Netscape/AOL ?
Just because it is M$ everyone automatically assumes it is gonna suck. Let's give it time and let M$ prove it is gonna suck:)
I bet you hit it on the head....FSCK'n publishers are jealous because the recording industry has such a stranglehold on music that they want to own EVERY PRINTED WORD.
Guns DO NOT KILL PEOPLE, they just sort of lay there and do NOTHING, sometimes they rust abit if they are feeling ambitious, but they NEVER KILL PEOPLE. People HOWEVER, DO KILL PEOPLE, and SOMETIMES THEY USE a GUN TO DO IT....sometimes they JUST BEAT MORONS TO DEATH with a handy blunt object but that is neither here nor there....
I too feel VEDRY strongly about this....
Bottom line. I run into this alot and always take it back. The A$$holes and curcuit city are VERY hard to deal with on returns but the one shouting match I had with the manager seems to have broken his will:)
and we did much the same thing but it was a while ago so we used a paint program and had them drawing and merging pictures. Opening closing files, and using floppy disks...Gave each child a disk of their 'OWN' with their name on it, BIG HIT, and it was cheap. The main thing is too keep it light and FUN. Irregardless of what some folks say, a creative game can work just as well.
The folks are doing it for FREE because they like to code. Creating is the fun part. Everything else is just BUSINESS. Not that I am switching over but I am glad that Mozilla is there and still pushing things a bit.
IANAL but I would venture a guess but that if you use one of M$'s tools that do generate these tags, somewhere in the EULA is a statement giving them permission to alter your content for the purpose of smart tags. I've seen the Beta XP but there was none of this silliness in it.
No where in anything but the SLashdot Hype does it say M$ will be altering your page. What they will do is introduce a new class of tags with some new purposes. Such as Stock Market Tags. They still require a click thru, and you can just NOT INCLUDE the tag if you don't want it. Granted Half these new tags point to M$ resources but how is this different from say ICQ or AIM or MSN and all the TAGS YOU CAN't CHANGE there ? I don't think you have to worry about M$ engineers or webspies rewriting your page in the dark:)
I've seen a graph depicting nodal relationships prior to this. I did not follow to see if there was a paper behind this so I will go check before I get any deeper:)
The public at large is not going to have to do much Roxio and the latest version of the SW is AWFUL. Even if you were a nitwit and Roxio is installed it still has so many bugs it barely functions to write legal stuff.

Even SETI states, make sure your employer is OK with this before installing any software.
Seems very straight forward to me, security breach or not.

admit it and don't claim expertise makes all the difference. A TRULY wise man realizes there is more he doesn't know that that which he does know.

I've seen and participated in several projects that port scanned as a method of network mapping.
:)
My analogy is more like a knock at your door...
Put up a fire wall (no tresspasor sign) if it bothers you

Don't open it..seems very simple...
Just because someone sent it to you does not mean you have to open it.

that you are a MORON ?? We could figure that out without you opening your mouth and proving it to us.
