Looking over the "Hall of Fame", it looks to me like the system works like this:
You submit a question, and get an automatic response back from one of the "personalities" (this may or may not be always The Cube). This is probably just a random line from a text file. Then later, the person(s)/entity(ies) that run the site may add more coherent and funny responses later.
I love the little blinky lights of my dockapps:). Will they work under the new E?
Absolutely. Actually, the dockapp support has been in since 0.15.x. As well, there is a new API that raster's been working on for enlightenment-enhanced dockapps (epplets).
I think that in retrospect the technical acheivements of Torvalds will be ignored. After all, at a technical level, he did nothing for computer science; he only copied a lot of people who came before him.
True, he hasn't done much as far as technicall innovation (at least as far as I know), but his work was certainly a catalyst for bringing powerful, unix-style computing to the desktop, which has spawned numerous advances in computer science and education.
And of course, let's not forget RMS. A lot of people don't agree with his views, but you can't deny that the FSF has greatly bettered the world of computing... remember, you likely wouldn't have Linux without GNU.
For moderators only, show a history of moderation action for each comment. This could be a 2D chart with history being vertical and different moderation "levels" being horizontal.
I agree with this. You would probably want to combine similar moderations on a same line (i.e "Insightful x 2").
As well, I think that comments should be anonymous on the metamod page. No usernames or.sigs in comments (I know I can recognize certain posters by their sigs, such as Anonymous Shepherd's *Pikachu* or Sun Tzu's Starship Traders link). Also, as Rob said, we need context. I'm thinking a comment on the metamod page should look something like this:
[Posted in: (link to article) at [time] [View Entire Thread (this would be a link to the comment (still anonymized) and its direct parents)]
although many of these themes are stunningly beautiful, real works of art, imnsho most seem to render the desktop unreadable/unusable, unless you have an 80Hz 19" screen.
Just to offer an example, check out Absolute_E on e.themes.org. Beautiful, functional, and uses less screen real estate than the default theme.
blackbox is KDE-compliant. (./configure --enable-kde) GNOME support is in a patch, but I don't think the patch will work right with the current source release of bb.
I am curtious as to which Alteon products you decided yo use. Can you be specific? For people interested in load balancing this could be enlightning.
We're doing a similar setup using an Alteon AceDirector 2 (eight ports). Once you understand their terminology, it's horribly easy to configure. I was about to recommend the ISP-LoadBalancing list to you, but then realized that there's been about three messages on it in the last few months...:)
because when you say "y'all", you sound like some retard inbred southerner.
Unfortunately, this tends to be the case. Unfortunately because it's a necessary construction for proper communication. Just about every language but English has an equivalent to "Y'all."
What makes someone sound stupid is when they address a single person as "y'all".
Besides, their dragon style just might beat your tiger style. What was that movie?
Originally, a Jackie Chan flick, I think. Also referenced in American Pie: "Their tiger-style kung fu is strong; but our dragon-style will defeat them."

Funny as hell, though...

Actually, the last time I was at Hastings, I saw boxed linux versions of Quake and Quake II (with addon packs, etc.).

Maybe you're using the wrong window manager. Try Enlightenment -- I use it, and I almost never touch my mouse.

If I were to die unexpectedly, I'd probably still be logged in, too. The only time I'm logged out is when I reboot... :)
