"Same with friends or neighbours. I'll fix their PC, but only if they pay me."
I am happy to fix PCs for my friends and neighbors without expecting compensation because I know there will be a point sometime in the future where I will need to call on them to help me.
There is nobody more devoted than a volunteer. Sadly the volunteer spirit has slowed in recent years. My fiance and I are teaching the values of sharing and volunteering to her 8yo daughter and we plan to do the same with our next child.
While the article may give a general idea of what this new law means, the actual text of the bill states:
"...while a motion picture is being exhibited,..."
Now this would lead me to believe that there is nothing anybody can do about me carrying a device into a movie theatre as long as I turn it off before the feature presentation. Now i'm all for paying a fair price for goods and services, but movie prices are just way too out of hand. Damn the man!
1. History says United States "won" the war, but there aren't really any winners anyway.
2. Business Marketing 101 says cater to as large of a demographic as possible.
Game developers have decisions to make. There has never been a game that has made everyone happy. Nor do I expect I will ever see one that will. If a developer wants to be historically accurate, then the game should be fairly straight forward. If a developer wants to cater to as many people as possible, then it will cost the developer more time and money to include more content in their games (i.e. including a story line to play as Japanese in above mentioned game).
My thoughts exactly. Base the registration rate on the Gross Vehichle Weight. I just renewed the tags on my Kia Sephia and it cost me $30 for 2 years. Perhaps it could stay at that rate for light cars and scale up to maybe $100+ for heavier vehicles. Then eliminate the gas tax entirely. Or, balance the two out. Cut the gas tax in half in exchange for a lower ceiling on weight based registration rates, maybe down to $70+.

Maybe you should read the whole string and not just parts of it. That will help you to understand my point.
Who really is victorious in a war when hundreds of thousands of people are killed? Many of them innocent civilians...
