But there is NO GOOD REASON for hummers. The fact that the asshole behind the wheel thinks that driving some over priced hyped up death machine will make up for some personality disorder does not make it OK. Lightweight solar cars have a reason to exist, sensibly sized minivans have a reason to exist, trucks have a reason to exist, Hummers do not.
Please mod the parent off-topic or troll. The poor student was killed by a minivan for god's sake. Most minivans are as safe a vehicle as exists on the road. It was a tragic accident indeed, but no Hummer was involved. Or should michael's post be considered a troll since he was the one who brought up Hummers in the first place?
I'm sure you're not the only one thinking about this. Microsoft recently bought a bunch of VM-related intellectual property from Connectix,
who previously made a PPC-based Playstation emulator and a PPC-based x86 VM, Virtual Playstation and Virtual PC, respectively.
I don't think it would be technically difficult for them to create an Xbox(1)VM for the Xbox2.
Whether or not it would be a "good" business choice for a profit driven monopolist is a different issue altogether.
...I do know that I can play 100% of anything I buy from the iTunes Music Store on any audio CD compatible player in the world.
Ok, I'll bite. No, you cannot. I have two very expensive CD players that will not play such CDs. Not because they're DRM-enabled, but because they are, like me, older. There are plenty of excellent, fully-functional older high-end CD players that will not play CD-R or CD-RW discs. And playing reduced fidelity (MP3,AAC,WMA) music in one of these units wouldn't make much sense anyway.
Adams used to set up his camera on the hood or roof of his BIG Cadillac (I realize that an 8x10 system weighs alot, but c'mon). But I think painting Adams as environmentalist is a bit of a stretch.
...it should still be noted that this is the best price/performance ratio ever achieved on a supercomputer.
Yes, but doesn't Moore's Law and the commodification of computer hardware suggest that each new generation supercomputer will have the best price/performance ratio?

But that's what my SliMP3 is for.
Really? Are you sure you don't mean John Muir?

Ansel Adams was above all an artist.

at least one copy of Mac OS X.
Oh, you said PC?
Huh? Doesn't anybody remember when Apple told Motorola and the other clone makers to take a flying leap?
Because of Apple's decision to kill the clone market Motorola had to take a write off of more than $100,000,000USD. No small amount.
While I'm not a Motorola apologist, I think they have just focused on the embedded market and haven't bothered to pursue general purpose CPUs.
