I remember paying $70 for Phantasy Star IV, and $60 for any RPG on the SNES. $50 prices on games is not really that bad nowadays, considering inflation and all.
On the otherhand, there is Nintendo, who just lowered their fees for 3rd publishers. Sega is releasing alot of their exclusive GameCube games, for $40 (Viewtiful Joe, and Billy and the Giant Egg, come to mind). Now this is a great price for some kickass games (the demos rocked). $40 for a brand new Sega exclusive game.
River City Ransom is one of the most talked about cult-classics from the NES generation, and yet it only received a sequel for Super Nintendo in Japan. Fans outside of Japan haven't seen anything new since the original game was released in 1990. Now Atlus is bringing the game back with River City Ransom EX, a remake of the original NES game. River City Ransom is a unique game that blends actions, fighting, and role-playing elements into one game and it will soon be playable on your Game Boy Advance.
Slick, the most powerful gang lord in River City, has taken over River City's high school and issued an ultimatum to the town. His gang thugs now roam the town and all the high school students are being held hostage. Fortunately, Alex and Ryan weren't at school when Slick took over so it's up to them to rescue the students, including Alex's girlfriend, from the clutches of the evil gang lord.
The game features a story-driven mode which can be played alone or cooperatively with a friend, as well as a 2-player battle mode. The game's dynamic story allows events to take place as you progress, allowing you to find new clues, make or break friendships, and earn new items and techniques. The items you purchase during the game can increase your stats or teach you these new techniques.
A special link mode in the game allows you to use a seperate Game Boy Advance to display the status screen and show how your NPC's are doing on their missions. Depending on how you do in the story mode, or how your friend does against you in battle mode, you can save your gameplay style and create a computer controlled AI character. You can exchange data with a friend to fight each other's AI characters. Customization is the name of River City Ransom EX as you can change your character stats, techniques, and even the background music.
"With its unique character building system and customization, River City Ransom EX truly is the 'RPG of side-scrolling fighting games,'" said Akibo Shieh, Project Lead at Atlus. "We are bringing to life a videogame classic to the Game Boy Advance and we look forward to developing other titles based on this awesome franchise."
River City Ransom EX has no known release date, but we will bring you more information about this title as soon as we receive it.

There is alot of other animated porn in Japan, not just La Blue Girl (aka tenticle rape extravangaza). Check out F3 if your into lesbians or some others before you classify the culture.
Well, I think Nintendo, out of all the companies, deals best with its franchise characters. You're Zelda reference was case in point. Link never talks, and all his games have been high quality (dont mention the CDi games:)
Nintendo is good about their franchises, which is why the GC and GBA are my favorite systems
Nostalgia is a very strong force that sells alot of games.
Case in point are all the remakes and ports for the GBA. They wouldnt sell nearly as much if nostalgia wasnt a factor (not to mention some of them are kickass games)
A River City Ransom remake was announced for the GBA, and alot of folks are really pumped for it, because it was a great NES game, with excellent gameplay. Alot of games today are all flash and no substance, and developers are realizing that older games that have that substance are selling. Hopefully soon they will realize they are selling because they are fun, and not all flashy.
Personally I would love to see remakes of Bionic Commando and Blaster Master, 2 great NES games that I still play on my DC via emu.
Well as a gamer who doesnt own a PS2 (I know..), I am seriously looking forward to at least renting this game to see what the hype is all about.
I hope it lives up to it, and not disapointed like I was when I finally got to see Debbie Does Dallas.
Well, me and a couple friends argue about whether Metroid Prime is a FPS or an FPA (First Person Adventure). I stand that it is an FPA, since it relies on exploration than just shooting and killing. Regardless, it is still a kickass game that deserves to be in every gamers library.
If you dont have Metroid for the GameCube, you owe it to yourself to pick it up. I have never liked an FPS for consoles, and am an avid lover of PC ones, and this game just kicked ass. The controls are fluid and simple to learn. Great stuff.

Hell yea.
Crystallis?? You got to be kidding me, you could beat that game in an hour and a half if you knew what you were doing. That game was a joke.
Yea man no problem.

Good stuff, and I cant wait!
I think the 10 gigs of anime porn I have on my PC would beg to differ.

Yes, but whats up with the extra buttons? I mean the GBA has A and B, but not X and Y, which this new controller does. Weird.
I hope this is an attempt at humor, and you are really not this ignorant.
