I like your idea, but it won't work. Here's why:
spammers don't care about the law. So, even if they were required to put ADV: on their spam, they wouldn't do it. Every email client in the world would have a "block ADV: emails" feature built in, and then they go out of business.
don't "abhor" people for choosing to do something that they find fun. Abhor them for puffing their smoke in your face or keeping you awake with their music, but why should you get upset if a person wants to damage his or her own body by having some stupid fun?
I don't smoke or listen to really loud music, but whoever does, that's fine with me. just don't force me to.
why did you post this on/.? now tons of computer-literate people will see it, doubtless increasing the amount of pages to be taken down. Maybe not by much, but I'm sure it will happen. Like troop locations, it might be interesting news, but best kept under wraps (raps?)
just goes to show the crappiness of synthetic benchmarks: before, when nVidia was losing in 3dmark, they complained about how it wasn't a good benchmark. now, nvidia wins, I'll be they won't complain, but their card is still slower.
well, it's not like they exploited it. laws are not flexible enough sometimes. Wow, I hope this doesn't happen at my school. Of course, they're too low-tech to install Wi-Fi, but if they did, I'm sure they would forget to install WEP.
look, he told you to shut up because you were being stupid. If you want a me to refute what you said, here goes: there are lots of hypocrites on the left AND the right. the question you should ask is "do we really want hypocrites running the country?"
ok, I guess. but I'd still be reluctant to compare a lamborghini and an accord based on cost because you take it for granted that the higher performance car/product will cost more. same with g vs. b. but I see your point, so stop arguing.
ok, point taken. As noted before, you don't really need a mac to configure AirPort, though it's an unofficial Java program that does it. not exactly for the masses. I agree that his solution is pretty bad, but you shouldn't compare the prices of g and b access points or routers etc. Apple's g may very well be more expensive than comprable ones, but you didn't make relevant comparisions.
I would say that Bawls/jolt cola/coffee just screws you up and leaves people feeling like crap after the LAN party. if it's going to be all weekend, then there's time for people to get a 6 hour break in for sleep.
he's a fool. he advocates that you buy the one with an antenna port, but to increase your range, you should buy another $200 access point rather than use the antenna port!
the problem is that most spam is illegal anyways, so it's not like they'll stop because they're sending porn to kids. They're going to stop because we come down hard on them, and we should do that even if porn isn't getting to kids.
CRTs create more heat than most desktop computers. You should look into LCDs.

yes, but it's not a "b" it's a "g". I'm assuming "b" refers to 802.11b, but I could be wrong.

actually, AirPort Extreme is 802.11g compatible, so don't compare it to your "b WAP's"
