The author clearly takes pride in his work, and uses TeX (well, LaTeX) to do the print-ready typesetting. There's nothing worse than an ugly book with ugly fonts.
Like all ORA books, this one was typeset using FrameMaker. FrameMaker! I urge you to boycott ORA until they come to their senses and use TeX to produce high-quality typesetting.
I recommend you skip this book; it was NOT typeset using TeX. There are
plenty of good books out there that are typeset using TeX, which are more
readable.
If the authors couldn't be bothered to use a high quality typesetting system,
do you really think they put much effort into the rest of their book?

fortunately, TeX is not distributed unther the GNU GPL, so Britons can still do high quality typesetting.
Does embedded linux run TeX? If it doesn't, why bother.
