    I thing that programing svgalib for linux have similarities to old DOS svga programming, don't you think ?

    Please CmdrTaco at least think about it, the cantity of storys-per-day had increased lately but the quality is dropping.
    I love Slashdot and don't want it to become just-another-news place...

    It need to be said again: CPU speed mathers but memory speed is much more important. I would be happy to see some major improvements in this area rather than the CPU area. The performance gain would be much more visible than pushing those CPU-s in 100Mhz increment higher.
    This field also shows similarities with the gaming field. More and more eye-candy but less playability/thinking/fun. It's boooooring.
    I'm stiking with Nethack on my good old p188 :)...

    Is it me or it seems that all this is happenig in order to bring the masses to the IT industry's products? But the good old feeling of using/coding that little 386s had gone.

    Something is wrong with the world...

    Having an under-5000 slashdot ID doesn't make you INSIGHTFUL or FUNNY. I think moderators should take this into acount. Do not let yourself influenced by the ID (Signal11 is an exception of course :)).
    Not having a small ID do not mean that you are not a veteran in the field.
    It's good to see people with ID>200000 with great coments.

    Just for the record, I use this codec to record TV movies.
    The Codec is pretty cool. I'm very satisfied with it, but it wouldn't hurt upgrading my little CPU :)

    BTW you don't pay for RH.
    But I bet for this "new" OS they're gona charge you as much as for the last one. And the uprgade packages price will be quite high, and won't reflect the small changes that went into the code (o was it the UI ?). So were is the justice here ?
