Have you guys tried that More Quakeworld client or FuhQuake (which is a stand alone game). They actually messed around with the physics themselves. More Quakeworld just feels messed up, I think to me it feels like NetQuake, but with some new features. MQW looks toonish compared to the original QuakeWorld.
As for FuhQuake. It's supposedly just a replica of QuakeWorld, but with features that prove to other people that you don't have a hacked client and are cheating.
