I didn't see this posted, but if you want a wonderful little book that'll really open up the world of math (without you having to understand a lot of math in the process) I highly recommend the book "Fermat's Enigma" It's a nice, light read, and will take you through the history of math from the Pythagorean Brotherhood, to the solving of the world's greatest math problem. I concur with others above, books are no substitute for teachers.
