I think Intel is realizing that they are in a hole that they can't seem to dig themselves out of. They used to be the leader in chips for the longest time. Now you see another chip maker, AMD (who has been around since the early 386s), starting to take away some of Intel's fame. Intel has suffered huge loses, and now another chip has emerged which has the potential of burning Intel even more. Personally, I'd be scared too. People should definately follow this new chip and in the mean time laugh at Intel's pathetic attempts to catch up. Lately, AMD has been not just one, but quite a few steps ahead. And if Transmeta is as good as they say it is, Intel isn't going to have a prayer
I was looking at that a year back and what I am disappointed about it that they used to offer a system case you could buy yourself and put your own computer into. Not as effective because you don't get the same expertise, but still pretty good.
And if you combined the AfterBurner...with the Kryotech system, well, let's just say I wish I had a few grand lying around.
As a techie the first question I asked myself was why not?. Why wouldn't you want to overclock an Athlon? True the other limitations of the computer bring down the effectiveness....but when you realize the difference between what we have...and what we could have...you'll know why...
Unfortunately buying one and sticking it on the card yourself and turning a few knobs if about as easy as it comes...just be thankful they came out with a better way then moving resistors around.
Actually...according to the first article written on Tom's Hardware guide about overclocking the Athlon, the case is not easy to open. Of course...I think he was trying to overclock a 500Mhz version or something...might have changed since then.
I was thinking about this article and made a few conclusions.
The sensors would have to aware of each other. The method of typing would have to be the standard way. With your fingers pressed on A S D F J K L ; And the keys would be registered accordingly. Like a joystick, it would most likely have to be calibrated for X:0 Y:0 position.
One problem, what if you developed your own style of typing?
You could build an air tight case using acrylic. Take the case off and just use the metal skeleton and build the acrylic case around it. Seal the entire case with a submersible sealant (like silicone, or some pool sealant).
Only problem would be exhaust from the case, you can't seal that off. But you could run piping away from the case and hook it up to the case.
...the police there think that some nutcase who went on a shooting spree in Sao Paulo last month was copying a scene from Duke Nukem...
Gee, so he turned himself into a 2-D character, buffed up his muscles and started to run around with an automatic weapon that seems to hit whatever target you want regardless of where you shoot it?
I do believe that the 733Mhz Intel CPU only came out last week. Could the programs already be updated to recognize Intel 733Mhz chips? I seriously doubt it. And I looked at the specs for the mainboard they used for the 1Ghz chip, although it does support up to 8.0 mulitplier, it only mentions support up to the 500Mhz chip. (This doesn't mean that they can't be used for the board, but motherboards required a BIOS update to support AMD chips, I am sure something similar would be required for a 700Mhz+ chip) And it is likely that the Intel 733 chip used in overclock could not be obtained by anyone as the mulitpler was obviously unlocked for these tests and will not be sold that way. Something is not right about these tests. A more reliable source is needed.
Is that all you have to say? Couldn't you come up with an original thought about the topic? You probably go around in text books and newspapers looking for little grammatical errors which shakes and horrifies your little world. Get a grip.
What stops some one from copying that signature to a file and using it whenever they feel like? If this passes there'll be wide spread fraud all over the place.
I distinctly believe I said 'exploit'..not virus. They are two very different things. Plus, like everyone else has been mentioning, you can use javascript to do the same thing, which automatically get launched in some cases.
True that wasn't the case here, but the line also caught your eye and forced you to read the article. It may have been a bit deceptive, but it peaked your interest
This just gives everyone an ecuse to build labtops that are more power hungry...large screens, huge displays, super surround sound with extra bass, huge processors...the list goes on...
Sad really...my old 386 with the software available at the time probably runs faster then my current computer with current software.
Warp speed Mr Sulu! SCI-FI is gradually becoming reality. Wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to convert the anti-matter into a power source. We might be launching anti-matter collectors on a regular basis...
I knew that I knew before he thought that I knew. I don't know why we even bother...someone will always find a loop hole... Why is it that thier are never fixed before someone exploits it? You'd think that somewhere and sometime, one of the good guys would find the exploit first.
And that is just the complete systems, I have a whole bunch of crap in my basement. Even an old NEC monochrome monitor...still works! Dual prong video card (mono/color), 3 2400 external baud modems, and enough power cords to wrap around my house.
Yeah why don't we nuke Titan? Sounds like a good idea....except one thing....they reported that there is Methane on that moon...hence all there would be is one big explosion! They'd be some huge fireworks...
We've pretty much sucked the life out of this planet...why not start on a distant moon? I hope that this moon isn't being looked at as a possible power source in the future, when we can actually get to it...

Its a driving force in us all...

Everyone knows that

Gives new meaning to the words: "Boot from Floppy"
Gonna try this sucker out

SO, how the fsck does one go about turning off javascript in IE?
One doesn't...one comes to their senses and gets Netscape. Then kicks themselves for using anything else.

KDE 2.0 is coming along nicely. Those screenshots look pretty cool. Few guys around the office can't wait to have a crack at 2.0

Ah well...
4 486 SX-25's
3 386 DX-33's
2 486 DX2-66's
1 286
And 20 ton dot matrix printer in big box...

Use Windows enough and you'd think they did.
No..itz not...
