While many carriers own their own towers, there are many independent companies that actually own the towers themselves. They rent the space on the tower, as well as on the ground to the individual carriers. I have worked this industry in the past - and have been at sites that have multiple carriers all at one location.
I personally try to use the packages when I can. It makes it a bit easier for myself to keep track of everything.
It's all in what you need to do. If you need those optimizations or special build options that aren't in the package, go ahead, it's what it's there for.
It really doesn't surprise me that the viewership has declined. All there is on TV nowadays is crappy Reality shows. 1 was great, 2 was okay. 15billion is annoying.
There are hardly any newer good quality shows. Most of the popular shows are started way-back anyway. Nothing new is worth watching.
I want my MTV! ( I personally can't stand it anymore . )
I think it's a good book. It was the 2nd C++ book I bought and served me well. It did it's purpose, and for that I say it's worth the money I put into it.:)
It did go into a lot of things my previous book hadn't even mentioned. I agree with the reviewer that the STL information was a little lacking.
I use various messengers to talk to my family around my house. No, I'm not lazy. It just seems stupid to get up and go walk across the house for a simple question that can be done in a few seconds. (There are 4 computers in this house, 2 in the same room.)
I also use it to keep in touch with friends and distant relatives.:)
